I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Garda Sol Hotel & Spa with my mother and sister, and I must say, it was an absolute disappointment from start to finish. The hotel's online appearance promised a tranquil retreat, but the reality was a far cry from the advertised images.
Upon arriving at the hotel, we were immediately taken aback by the state of disrepair. The entire place appeared outdated and poorly maintained. The room we were assigned to was a shock; it seemed like it hadn't seen any proper cleaning or renovation in ages. The couch and bed were dirty and worn-out, and the presence of an old and grimy bunk bed was completely unwelcome. It resembled something out of a prison or concentration camp, making the stay uncomfortable and distressing.
One of the most glaring issues was the overpowering stench of mold that engulfed the room. It was not only unpleasant but also concerning for our health. Unfortunately, the lack of cleanliness extended beyond our room. The pool, downstairs lobby, and bar area were all in a similarly deplorable condition.
To make matters worse, the hotel's service was abysmal. The bar was devoid of any staff the entire day, leaving us without any means to relax or enjoy the facilities. When we expressed our concerns politely to the receptionist, he showed no interest in assisting us and seemed annoyed that we were dissatisfied with our accommodations.
Given the conditions, we made the difficult decision to leave and find another place to stay. To our dismay, we discovered that I had accidentally left a newly purchased dress in the wardrobe. When I called the next day to inquire about it, the same unhelpful receptionist claimed they hadn't found anything and that the room was occupied by other guests. It was clear that they had no intention of addressing our concerns or taking responsibility for our lost belongings.
Even though we had booked the room for the entire week, we were denied any form of refund, not even a partial one. This added to our frustration, as it was evident that the hotel management was not interested in maintaining even a semblance of customer satisfaction.
The only silver lining to this ordeal was the area itself, which was beautiful and filled with friendly people. I strongly advise travelers to visit this picturesque location, but I emphatically warn against staying at the Garda Sol Hotel & Spa. The experience was nothing short of horrendous, and it is a shame that such a place continues to operate despite its appalling conditions.
In conclusion, my stay at Garda Sol Hotel & Spa was a regrettable mistake. I implore potential guests to look elsewhere for a pleasant and comfortable stay in this otherwise...
Read moreI booked a stay at Garda Sol Apart-Hotel and Spa with my family in July. We arrived excited, having seen beautiful pictures of this place and hotel online. Then we arrived at the hotel room, which was, to put it mildly, the worst hotel room I've ever seen. The room had outdated and shabby furniture that was poorly-maintained. The room itself was filthy and did not smell good. We went down to the reception and politely asked the staff for another room because we couldn't imagine staying there. The staff member was unhelpful and unwilling to assist us.||||We decided to go out to eat and discussed the situation a bit. We returned and tried to make the best out of it. We went to the nearby pool area, which was not that great,a worn-out, old, and uninspiring pool. After much consideration, we decided to speak to the receptionist again and ask for help. We received the same response, they were unwilling to help in any way.||||Faced with these circumstances, we made the tough decision to leave the hotel and find alternative accommodations. Since then, we have contacted the hotel and the travel company we booked the hotel through. Unfortunately they are unwilling to help at all and claim that the whole thing is our fault. ||||The experience was nothing short of disappointing, and it's unfortunate that such conditions persist. I would definately not recommend staying at this hotel. This had a very bad impact on our...
Read moreGot back this morning after spending a 9 day holiday with JUST GO/National Holidays (15th June tour). Long journey but well worth it. This is a lovely authentic Italian hotel in a lovely location with views over the lake and roof top pool with lots of sunbeds and seating areas. The room we had was spacious and clean and overlooking the lake. This is a family run hotel and they couldn't do enough for you. The food was nice and lots of it. The breakfast was continental with a good choice of hams, cheese, jams, croissants, fruits, yogurts etc. Evening meals were varied with pastas, chicken, pork, fish, veal, with lovely desserts to follow! There are a few restaurants close by if you fancy a coffee in the morning or change to eat out or just have a few drinks. The ferry terminal is a short walk away if you want to hop on and see other places independently. |If you want UK travel lodge type accommodation then this isn't for you. If you want an authentic taste of Italy you will have a lovely time staying at this hotel. Wish I was back there! Lovely hotel ran by a...
