I don't like to give my opinion but here I am. We stayed for a week or so! The lobby staff was friendly, the garden was very nice and had access to the lake. The two-story room was clean, although some of the furniture was dirty or old on the upper floor. What I didn't like at all was the bathroom, old, full of mold, the shower was disgusting, the shower door was difficult to open and close and the bathroom floor had underground water and every time you stepped on it, water came out of the floor! DISGUSTING!! A four-star hotel?? You have to renovate the bathrooms and make them new and think about the health of your clients. I have never had mold in my bathroom and I have had to pay for this filthy bathroom! Another negative thing is some of the waiters at breakfast! Clients with dogs had to have breakfast on the terrace and the first day the waiters told me that they would not serve me because it was private property and I should not be on the terrace. Total chaos and very rude. The way they spoke in front of the whole dining room and literally told me to get out of the hotel when I explained to them that we were clients and following the rules of the reception staff. Although everything was clarified, they had a hard time working on the terrace every day and the woman at the bar was very rude! There is parking during the week, but on the weekend there is no parking if you arrive later than 7 pm because the restaurant is open to the public. If you want to have dinner you cannot enter with a dog and they do not serve you in the room either! We went on excursions every day but it was not pleasant to rest in the room, it smelled of mold and was infested with mosquitoes. The bathroom in the room and the old and dirty carpet at the entrance to the rooms is horrible! I do not consider it a 4 star hotel and I do not think we will return. It is a hotel for a couple of nights! Shame!

Absolute Empfehlung! Leider kann man nur 5 Sterne vergeben. Wir sind Gäste vom 1.6.25 - 10.06.25. Wir bedanken uns.

Upon our arrival we were led to a room which was stinking badly of mould. I started looking for the source and soon discovered that all walls were mouldy, some of the biggest patches covered with furniture or bed. We were shocked and immediately asked the receptionist to change our room as being in these conditions is extremely hazardous to health, even for people who are not allergic to mould (my partner is). We couldn't believe that a 4 star hotel or any kind of hotel would have rooms like that and show them to guests. These rooms should be completely torn down/renovated. Luckily we got a different room, the situation there was better. ||However, it was still not a 4 star hotel experience: hotel and the room smells really bad (probably old irrigation systems and old furnishings). Bathroom doors wasn't closing (would open by itself, really romantic). To get to bed you would need to climb wooden stairs which were squeeky and loud, which doesn't work for nightly toilet visits. The floors were very low so you couldn't walk straight up in the bedroom. The roof window had a broken "curtain" so it was always closed, hence it was always dark. There was no net from insects on the window, so you would always have some mosquitos in the room or other bugs. It wasn't as quiet as expected, as the hotel is right by the busy road so you would need earplugs to sleep with a window open at night.||||Breakfast: good for people who eat sweet breakfast. Not so good for people who eat continental breakfast, because there was almost no choice. You had bacon, watery scrambled eggs, watery boiled eggs and some tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, ham. It would have been satisfactory had the eggs were done properly, but they were always undercooked/almost raw, so as I didn't want to get ill I chose not to eat that and survived on veggies.||||Staff was nice and friendly, the view from the window absolutely beautiful, but that does not really recompensate for the overall poor state of...

I stayed at the Hotel Villa Maria Au Lac for 4 nights with my partner for her birthday and it did not disappoint. We previously stayed in lake Garda which was also great but from the second we checked in we were amazed. We were taken to a separate building from the main rooms, and taken upstairs to our room. We walked in, and we were very surprised at the size of the room, bathroom, and most of all, the balcony. |The balcony oversees the beautiful hotel garden, complete with sun loungers, statues, water features, and even rabbits and guinea pigs. Just behind the garden wall is the lake, with the hills over looking it. |It was such an amazing view, we couldn’t believe we got the room for such a good price. |The room itself had some lovely decor, fully fitted air con, and a tv. The only knock on it was the door key was very temperamental, and sometimes took a few minutes to open and close. Also the mini bar fridge didn’t work. These were the only negatives in an otherwise great stay. The staff were friendly and polite and the breakfast was delicious. |The hotel is situated next to Toscolano Maderno, which is a nice 10 minute stroll along the lake, which has some great restaurants, and access to the ferry if you want to go anywhere else on the lake. |All in all, we had an amazing stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend...
