My husband, daughter and I had a wonderful time, once again, at Hotel Madrigale. What impresses us each year is the staff. Sultan and Michael are always very friendly, attentive and professional in their work. One person, however, who always stands out is Angelo. He was off from work for two days when we first arrived. The hotel did not quite feel the same without him, everything was perfect, however something was missing. When Angelo greeted us the next morning with a very enthusiastic „Buongiorno“, we felt like we finally arrived in Bella Italia. His positive energy fills the room. He makes us feel like we have been invited to a large family breakfast in Italy. Even though he is very busy, he takes the time to greet each hotel guest and to wish everyone a “Buona Giornata” . In the evening he welcomes each guest and wishes every guest a good evening. He makes everyone feel like they are special guest who have arrived home for dinner. He manages this well serving meals and guests needs to perfection.|I would also like to mention the lovely middle aged woman who cleaned our room. She was so friendly when I came to the room to get something. She even gave me a tip on how to care for the flowers I had in the room. |There were also a few new faces serving the pool during the day. I was so delighted when Stephanie could speak to me in English. With all the positive attitudes of everyone at the hotel, including the very welcoming and helpful women at the front desk, it shows that this is a family run business that cares for their staff. ||Additionally, the half board is excellent. The breakfast is amazing! There is everything imaginable to choose from. There are even lactose and gluten free selections. The service is superior to none. You never have to wait to order a cappuccino or a special order omelette; which does not cost extra. The dinner was excellent. There is a large salad bar/antipasto selection to start with. Followed by a 4 course gourmet quality dinner. ||The pools are fantastic. The guests must be 14 years of age or older which truly makes a difference for a relaxing day at the pool. The panoramic view from both of the large pools is breathtaking. We had a blue lake triple room which had the gorgeous view of the village of Garda and the sail boats on the lake. |The Spa area was closed during high summer, therefore we did not visit it. However, we are sure it must be great considering everything else at the hotel is superior. We have made Hotel Madrigale our annual visit to Northern Italy.|Thank you all for a...
Read moreWhat makes Madrigale a cut above other four and even fivestar hotels is the genuine pleasant atmosphere created by their team. It is a terrible feeling to go to a hotel and be greeted by or served by unhappy unpleasant personnel. Angelo treats guests with great warmth as though they are returning family. Even though he had a cast on his hand, it did not change his pleasant attitude or level of service. He gave his all to make sure our stay was a perfect as always. Federico and Sultan were two of our waiters at dinner. They both were always attentive to our table in a friendly and professional manner which made us feel like welcomed guests. Michael was not our server at dinner, however we noted that, even though he is young, his level of professionalism is like a seasoned pro. Emma who served at the bar was amazing. She constantly walked around the pool area in order to give guests the opportunity to ask her to bring them drinks / food. My husband and I both said that the bar probably made more Money this summer than any other summer, because of her exceptional work ethic. There is also a very lovely woman who we see every year working at breakfast. Unfortunately, I may have forgotten her name. I think it is Rovena. She is full of energy and is constantly checking and restocking the breakfast buffet. One evening Angelo was the head waiter. He was very busy with the special event that evening “dinner under the stars”. However, he continued to focus on the guests and continued to communicate with the guests. He asked everyone, if they were enjoying their meal, and explained and apologized for the short delays with the kitchen These short delays were welcomed by us, as it gave us time to digest our food prior to the next course being served. The key was that Angelo kept the guests informed which made us feel well looked after, and that we were not forgotten. The front desk was also run perfectly under the management of Manuela and her team. ||What makes the facilities a cut above the rest are the two large swimming pools and the numerous seating areas throughout the grounds. We often were the only two people in the pool because many preferred the full sun area with the second pool and intrigrated whirlpool. The hotel is in a very quiet area with only the sound of birds and crickets. There are no loud children, since the minimum age is 14 and up. Hooray! Perfect for families with older children. Half board is an excellent choice. Plan to gain...
Read moreThis hotel is nothing short of amazing! The location has amazing views across Lake Garda, although it is less than 10 mins down to Garda and not necessarily walkable but great if you have a car and also the hotel run regular courtesy shuttle bus, prompt and a good well run service. |Where do I start as we had just the best experience (not always the case on previous holidays), but this hotel is tastefully furnished and immaculately maintained. Rooms are spotless and we stayed in a blue lake room which had a lovely balcony from which to enjoy the splendid views. A lovely ambience all around and two beautiful outdoor pools, one of which is heated and plenty of sun beds and places to relax, all with stunning views.|We opted for half board and well worth it, silver service and a different menu every night. The food was outstanding with beautifully presented delicious dishes, also using local and typical Italian cuisine. |The staff really do make this hotel outstanding, we were treated like old friends by them all, so happy and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Special mentions to Angelo, Federico, Jacopa and Ravenna and Sultan and Alfredo (can’t remember all the names) but the first three were amazing and we miss them already. A big thank you to them all they really are assets to this hotel. |Cannot recommend this place enough and of course Garda is just lovely to visit as well as Bardalino which isn’t far away (be mindful though the taxi fair was expensive only downside). We can’t wait to return and miss...
