From the beginning to the end, it was a disappointing experience. Booked a Premium Sea View Room just to find out on arrival that there is only a standard room available(after we saw the room and we managed to carry all our luggage alone up to the top of the hill). The reception staff was completely clueless, so I was asked to wait to speak to hotel management the next morning. On the next day, we were offered a discount and a free dinner by one of the reception ladies as she had discussed the issue with management already. Online, the Premium Rooms were still available to book during our stay with the same dates on various booking sites. After mentioning this to reception, we were reassured that this would get sorted out. Two days later, the Premium room was still available online!
Overall, the hotel staff lacks communication and service quality.
Breakfast is every day the same but good, even when you need to be prepared to wait a long time for your second cup of coffee(with maybe 6 tables seated).
The dinner buffet is for the price of 60 Eur not worth it. Tasty starter buffet, Pasta main was tasteless, and the pasta was hard(not Al dente). The beef stake was neither salted nor peppered. The pork belly was OK. We couldn't eat the Tiramisu as it was dry. The other deserts were tasty but simple. No seafood main like prawns, langustin, or lobster was available. Not even a freshly grilled fish fillet. Just a pre made seafood pasta with a few mussles. At desert, my coffee was brought cold to the table. I asked for a new hot coffee, and the waiter simply reheated my coffee in the microwave. After that, the coffee tasted obviously sour.
At the pool bar, the service was very slow. We waited 25 min for a beer and a mojito, while other guests received service and drinks within 5 min. The cocktails tasted every day differently, and the staff lacked knowledge.
The pool is ok, the beach is mixed with stones and sand, mostly stones. The staff at the beach is very attentive.
The best thing about the hotel is the cleaning ladies, very friendly and always cleaning with a good standard.
Our standard sea view room was ok. Basic standard, a repaint wouldn't hurt. Big no go in all rooms is that there is no WiFi available. In this time and age, it is not understandable. Also, tennis wasn't available during our stay(construction).
Big surprise than at check out. They wanted to charge us even more than the upon agreed price from our booking confirmation. Several wrong Restaurant/Bar purchases were booked to our room as well. After discussing with reception with no outcome(we could only solve the wrong Restaurant/Bar purchases) we waited over 2 hours to speak to the hotel management. After another 20 minutes, we finally received a correct invoice with the amount we agreed on. There was no excuse from hotel management, though. Just the reception staff was very sorry and felt visible uncomfortable with...
Read moreWe stayed at Veridia Resort for 10 days in late Summer. The Resort has a very beautiful beach and pool and there are many activities you can do. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the communication is very good as well. We booked a room with a balcony and a big bed for 2 Persons and we had an AC and a very big TV. The bathroom had a strong smell of canalisation that only came when you used the faucet, shower or toilet. Sometimes it even came when the ventilation system was activated with the bathroom lights. The smell got so bad that the whole room stank so we called reception and they fixed the problem. Sadly it returned after a day or two (slowly). Italian toilets alway smell a bit but this was a bit extreme. The staff tried their best to make our stay comfortable though :) The Pool and the beach are very pretty but the loungers and umbrellas are very limited. At the beach there is a section only for Veridia Guests and the rest of the beach is public. But even on Weekends the public beach wasn't crowded at all. At the Pool the loungers are getting reserved by guests before breakfast with Veridia Towels etc so it can be pretty frustrating to find a spot sometimes. Some of the lifeguards will help to find a spot or make one for you (also at the beach, if full). The Pool has a little part that is more shallow and the deep part is maybe about 1.20m or so. It is kept very clean and there is a little pool for children as well. We did Aquafit on a Thursday with Denise who is a very lovely trainer and I can recommend it! The breakfast buffet is quite big with alot of options but the dinner buffet seems a bit overpriced with 50€ per Person. There are a ton of Restaurants in the area (3-30min rides) and all with 4 stars or more are a good choice here. Just be careful with parking in the cities/towns as there are special parking rules alot of times and Police checks the cars daily. Pets are allowed but please check the rules for beaches if you bring a dog as Sardinia has special rules for the whole island. The so called dog beach is almost unreachable. We could not find the dog areas that were described on the homepage but there are some spots with grass that our dog could enjoy. Also italian culture seems to allow smaller dogs almost everywhere. We had no problems with our small poodle but some other guests had to leave their Cane Corso or Goldie in their room for the day which is pretty sad if the place calls themselves dog-friendly. All in all I can recommend this resort and will gladly return. I love the calm atmosphere and the nature is incredibile! Did not know you could see wild...
Read moreWe are having a delightful holiday at the Veridia resort. To start with, the facilities in the resort are comfortable, well thought out, and much appreciated. The private beach, which is just a short walk away, has high-quality wooden sunbeds along with kayaks and paddle boats available for use. The beach staff are very attentive, especially Biaggio, who is taking excellent care of us throughout our stay.
The reception staff are nice, with a special mention to Fiamerta, who voluntarily offers great suggestions on food options. Elena was nice to help us organise a meeting room for a quick meeting. The reception staffs are welcoming and quick to provide any extra items we need.
More than anything, we are very impressed with the service from the manager, Marco, who was generous with his time, explaining the room types and settling us according to our preferences. He is always pleasant to ensure we are well taken care of and takes pride in customer service.
While the outdated features of the rooms is somewhat true, we find it charming as part of the nature resort. The room we are staying in shows sign of tiredness, but it meets our needs, especially the view of the rolling mountains. The cleaning staff are nice and do a good job of tidying up the place every day, despite the language barrier. The garden and the public access areas are well-maintained, with special attention to details on sustainability.
The other facilities such as gym, pool, chairs in the lounge areas, board games, sun-beds in the rest areas are well thought through, and the furniture are made of sustainable materials, something we are particularly pleased about.
We hear that the resort is undergoing refurbishment to upgrade the rooms. The breakfast is nice, with options like freshly pressed juices, eggs, and fruits.
There are a few minor issues, as with any place, but the quality of service makes it easy for us to overlook them.
Since it’s low season, it’s a shame that the restaurant doesn’t offer a’ la carte menu, as we would have liked to try it.
We are already talking about returning again for...
