We came in from Slovenia. A little difficult to find the entrance as it is after a public beach , done a winding road to the beach. Followed the signs and pulled into a garage. The lobby is one floor below this. The setting is spectacular with the marina, hill side and the beach. The concierge was excellent and full of info. Helped us navigate the property and reserve restaurants. This was very helpful because it is like a small village. The website is not very helpful and I do not think that it lists all of the restaurants available. We ate at the Napoli pizza restaurant the first night. The pizzas were decent but not amazing. The wine list was good and reasonably priced. The waitstaff was ok but don't expect quick service. The second day we had the buffet breakfast which had a wide selection. There are available to order additional omelets and crepes etc free of charge. I tried this but the waiter did not understand me and brought the wrong order. Coffee is order only which can take a while. The second day the staff was better and I had the correct phrased to get what I ordered. Overall the food was good , the bread not so much but plenty of good cold cuts to choose from, We found a pool below the club the next day at 10e a person per chair. There were plenty of chairs. The music was club type music which can wear after a while. The view was great, pool big enough and the rocky beach and water was easy to access. The service by the pool was terrible. After the first go we just walked to the bar which was easier. Food and drinks overall were so so. Ate at the same restaurant after making reservations. The service at dinner was excellent. The food was ok. I had the pasta with mushrooms and shrimp. It was mostly pasta and under seasoned. My wife had the fillet which was not a good cut. bars at night vary with drink selection and have limited choices. service was good. I would stay again for the location, and the beach privacy. parking was easy and front staff were great. I would consider leaving the property to look for better...
Read moreThis is my 90th review for TripAdvisor and will undoubtedly be the most bizarre. We stayed with friends for 4 nights, selecting the hotel which is about 20km from Trieste to give us a seaside ambience close enough to sightsee in the city. (We had a car, but there is also a ferry every day from adjacent Sistiana to central Trieste).||The resort is built into a small cove, holiday homes available for sale or rent, with the 5* hotel in the centre. The car park is underground and a little difficult to find. Check-in was friendly and efficient. We had booked Terrace Suites with Panoramic views, which were accessed from a front door 50 meters from the main hotel. The room was spacious and modern with separate living areas; not luxurious but practical with a basic kitchen, king bed, and the terrace was large but with a high wall, so on the sunbed the panoramic view was of the wall. Both couples had to change rooms because of plumbing difficulties. The hotel staff dealt with this commendably but it revealed some fundamental design flaws with showers and baths.||Breakfast was above average with a well presented buffet and cooked items to order at extra cost. The restaurant staff were cheerful but slow and inefficient - getting coffee seemed to take an age, getting it right even longer.||But the bizarre thing was - it was virtually devoid of guests. Even on the warm dry evenings (3 out of 4) there was no-one around. The hotel restaurant, the bar, and the nearby Beach Club restaurant were mostly empty. No-one was strolling in the very pretty piazza next to the marina. Music, relayed throughout the resort, went unheeded. It was almost eerie. We almost felt that we had stumbled by accident on a complex which was in a soft launch, although we know that not to be the case.||In summary, everything worked, was of high quality, and was pristine. It was just spookily empty. Maybe that works for...
Read moreVery unprofessional front desk / complaint management.
A lot of intransparent extra cost, they charged us 14€ for a single Avocado at the breakfast. Not all the options are included but they don’t have a menu / list of what is included. If you ask the staff they can mention SOME of the non-included meals but they don’t know the prices - They just said „It is very expensive“ 😂
Room made loud noise the whole night, they were not able to fix it and did not offer to move our stuff to another room. All they offered in return was some (free?) fruits and some alcohol (even tho they knew my wife was breastfeeding and cannot drink alcohol)
See attached video for the annoying noise that we had to hear during the whole stay
Not enough staff in the restaurant - Even the employees told us that they are too stressed because of a lack of personnel
New owner is not as solid as the former one. The cleaning stuff does not understand a single word of english and was not able to refill the shower gel.
The whole city is like a ghost town. All stores are closed / insolvent. Even in high season you barely see other people which makes this beautiful little town very weird
After complaining about all the above points (except the last one) they did not even make one single step towards our direction.
Beware of this place, it is highly overpriced (we paid more than 500€/night) and the service and level of professionalism is far off.
We came back because we were there a couple of years ago (when it was under Marriot, now it is nh) and it was great. This time (under nh), it was a very unpleasant experience with very unprofessional management and we will not come back ever again. I would advise anyone to book another place - For that money it is definitely not worth...
