Stayed here for 3 nights and it was such a great stay! The receptionists were all very friendly and super helpful explaining everything, like how and where to use the BrixenCard. Very easy check-in. And they happily held my medicine bag in their refrigerator for the duration of my stay.
The location was amazing. Literally in front of the train station, as in it takes 1 minute to enter the hotel. And the bus station was even closer to the front door. So you could travel about the area without needing to rush to catch a bus. And even though it was close to public transport stations, it still had a quaint, quiet, and warm atmosphere. It also has a nice, quiet garden out back with a pool.
My room was a good size, had a good amount of light, and faced east toward Mt Plose, so great views, especially at sunrise. There was a large desk to work off of, and a carafe of water that was replenished daily. There was a large sturdy luggage table to place my suitcase on. And the bed and pillow were super comfortable. The window was key to getting fresh cool air, but it didn’t get unbearably hot inside otherwise. And even with the window open, there was barely any noise, aside from quaint chirping birds. No real noises coming from the hallway or other rooms either. The WiFi connection from my room was pretty decent, too.
The bathroom was a good size and the shower was large enough to move about freely. The provided shampoo/shower gel and hand soap had a nice neutral smell and were in eco-friendly large refillable bottles. Good water pressure, too. The only quirky thing was that the bath towels were quite thin. That said, they still did a good job drying me off, and I think the thinness helped them dry quicker so I never had to use a damp towel. So not really any negative attributes.
The breakfast, which starts at 7:30, was held in a cute dining room on the ground floor, with attendants checking and refilling the coffee/food and providing an espresso or cappuccino upon request. As a vegetarian, I found breakfast quite good, with a lot of veggie-friendly options: 5 types of cereal/muesli; 2 types of yogurt; fresh fruit, including pears, pineapple, cherries, and honeydew; and a range of croissants, pastries, and breads, along with a good selection of jams. I also noticed a selection of meats and some eggs, but didn’t look closely enough.
Check-out was quick and easy as well....
Read moreThe position is great. It's right opposite the station which normally is not a great location for most cities, but it is amazing for Brixen. The city centre is within walking distance and there also a few supermarkets nearby. I'd asked for a room overlooking the garden and not the station as I'd read some reviews that trains can be heard through the double-glazed windows. It was a single room, it was ok. Mattress was alright, pillows are the disgustingly soft pillows you get in the area, but luckily there were two in the room so i used them both. The room had almost everything it needed to be a great room, except the minifridge. The minifridge is a must nowadays. Apart from that, it was perfectly acceptable for a single room. The bathroom was ok, tiny tiny sink, I'm quite petite so it was ok but I can't imagine how a tall man would brush his teeth on that sink. The towels need to be changed. Those were not towels, those were pieces of fabric so think that you could see your hand through them. Not great for when you need to dry yourself after a shower. If I were management, I'd replace them asap. Now, when it comes to service, it was alright. The receptionists were great and helpful, breakfast was fine. I got better breakfasts around the area, but I suppose it was acceptable. Lots of choice, but I wouldn't say the ingredients were the best. White yogurt was actually sweetened yogurt and it wasn't labelled as such, which may cause some problems to some people. Pity the eggs were available only as hard boiled. The price is not fair but it's what is common in the area. I paid approximately 120€ per night for a single room plus ok breakfast. I was there for work so it was ok, Im not sure I'd go back on holiday. If I were to come to Brixen again, I'd probably stay at Jarolim again for its convenient location, but if I found a cheaper spot i'd probably...
Read moreI have stayed here about 3 times for skiing and local tourism. Could not be better sited for public transport - buses, trains - 2-4 minutes to either. Also has off street parking. The mobility card means free transport on the buses and regional trains from about Brenner Pass to Meran and Trento (& I think Val Gardena). Breakfast options good. Delightful staff very helpful with questions on transport, tourism, and skiing (They are skiers themselves). Rooms good, very clean, and the ones I have had had good views. Adjustable heating so you get the temperature you want.|I have used it as a base for skiing. Some fields are close others require about 3/4 hr travel (using the mobility card). |For a quick cheap simple evening meal there is a small cafe about 10 minutes walk down the road parallel to the railway line. Leave crossing the road until after passing a roundabout, and get there before 6.30 pm as it...
