We had a sublime summer lunch at this restaurant.
The position by the lido in a park is gorgeous - even better if you have children with you who love playing on the playground and with the fountains while you enjoy a more leisurely meal.
We celebrated our daughters birthday here. Reserving by email (in English) was a breeze and super responsive. We got exactly what we requested - a table, on the terrace outdoors, with shade, with a view of the playground.
The welcome when we arrived was warm and the food was so exceptional. Kids food came quickly, adults food was appropriately paced, no one rushed us, everyone was exceptionally helpful.
Gorgeous, fresh, not-fussy-just-fabulous food came out from a team of immaculate chefs in the wonderful open kitchen inside. You could taste the freshness of the vegetables and herbs, the quality of the meat / fish and everything we as prepared in such a way to compliment this.
Best of all was the absolute stand out table service from the two waiters who looked after us, plus the sommelier. It was personal, personable, generous and authentic. A fantastic face on a thoroughly enjoyable dining...

So verwundert es nicht, dass hier noch einiges dem Geschmack meiner Großeltern entspricht. Dort, wo sich mit Blick auf den Finsterwirt oder das Hotel Elephant die absolute Klassik erhalten hat, finden wir dies sogar sehr sympathisch und doch finden wir es extrem gut, dass dieser traditionelle Urlaubsort an manchen Stellen eine deutliche Erneuerung findet. Das Gebäude, welches diese Restauration beheimatet, ist konsequent modern in der Formensprache - außen wie innen. Auf der Terrasse gefällt es sicherlich auch denen, die der modernen Architektur weniger zugeneigt sind, im Inneren bleibt es eine Stilfrage. Keine Stilfragen wirft hingegen die hier gebotene Küche auf. Eine Art Südtiroler Fusions-Küche wird hier den Gästen gereicht. Geschuldet dem Werdegang der beiden Köche, die, bevor sie in ihre Heimat zurückkehrten, an einigen Stellen dieser Welt erfolgreich die Gäste kulinarisch verwöhnten. So mischen sich diese Einflüsse mit der heimatlichen Tradtion. We are almost certain that this restaurant will divide opinions - which is a good thing! Bressanone/Brixen was already my grandparents' place to go. So it's no surprise that a lot of things here still correspond to my grandparents' tastes. There, where absolute classicism has been preserved with a view of the Finsterwirt or the Hotel Elephant, we even find this very congenial and yet we find it extremely good that this traditional holiday resort is finding a clear renewal in some places. The building that houses this restaurant is consistently modern in its design language - outside as well as inside. On the terrace, it certainly pleases even those who are less inclined to modern architecture; inside, it remains a question of style. The cuisine on offer here, on the other hand, is not a question of style. A kind of South Tyrolean fusion cuisine is served to the guests here. This is due to the careers of the two chefs, who successfully spoiled guests with culinary delights in several places around the world before returning to their homeland. The five of us have ordered a variety of Tapas and except one dish , every single serve was over cooked and toooo salty …to the point the deep fried squid and fried zucchini became ‘un-eatable’ !! In addition, my serve of prawns was completely raw, meaning it was supposed to be cooked and was served totally green !
The red wine was also served way too warm and we ended up to throwing several glasses over the fence in protest.
The waitress was very cooperative and has tried to save the evening without success.
The bill was also way over the top considering that every shot you get at street food anywhere around world is better...
