This isn’t really a hotel. They are apartments. It’s quaint. It’s very cozy and has an excellent view. However, this place is not recommendable at all. Our room was infested with bugs, horrible bugs. They were everywhere like a nightmare. We wanted to leave. It was my 10 year anniversary trip but the manager wouldn’t budge. There are false representations on the booking.com website. This place has no air conditioner. We believe guests open the windows and this is how the place gets infested with stink bugs. The manager herself was scared I can’t explain how awful I felt, I couldn’t go to the living room or kitchen because every day the bugs would be there. I feel bad because the grounds are nice and the staff is nice. But the manager really should have refunded us. This ruined our trip. I waited 10 years to make a trip like this and I will never forgive booking or this place. They should have worked together to make this right. I have videos and photos of this but since the other guests are going to post too due to the hotel giving no resolution to this disaster I will refrain. We were two couples in the best room 2 bedroom with views of the lake...

Read moreDomus Plinii is a hidden gem. Located in the small and quiet village of Faggeto Lario, the hotel sits directly across from the water, separated only be the small road that brings you into the village. The hotel rooms are well spaced, in funky decor and the grounds are small but absolutely beautiful. The seating area for breakfast and meals served by D Lounge are stunning, under the foliage of old-world trees and with views across the lake. The staff are all exceptionally friendly and helpful (shoutouts to Luca, Jada and Greta) with Luca even giving us a ride into Como in his own time when we were trying to figure out transport. Faggeto Lario is a quite place with only two restaurants, including the D Lounge at Domus Plinii and there are no stores of any sort, so expect to journey to Como or another of the villages along the lake for anything. Ferry services are cheap but finish early in the day (around 5-6pm) with buses, some taxis and water taxis your only option if you don’t have a car. Overall, the perfect spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of the more tourist-focused areas around the lake. Highly recommend...
