Casthotels Punta del Sole Terme. — Hotel in Forio

We spent a week in the hotel: the rooms are very clean and the beds are good. The single rooms are very small. We had booked breakfast, but it was awful (coffee horrible, food thrown at the buffet, juice yucky and waiter VERY unfriendly), so we went out for breakfast everyday instead.|The other staff - apart from the grumpy night porter - were friendly and spoke some English, the barman speaks German.|What the main problem was was the noise within the hotel: I had the first room on the first floor directly over the lobby and dining room. I called it the room from hell, especially on Monday and Thursday when there was the most awful, loud one-man-with-keyboard dance "music" going on. The music stops promptly at 23:30, so by 24:00 when the guests have disperced to their rooms, you are lulled into thinking you might get some sleep. No chance! At 24:30 the staff rearranges all the lobby furniture and you get to hear the screeching of the sofas being pushed back into place. So when you finally drop off around one and think you'll sleep in, you're foiled again: at 07:00 all the breakfast preparation noises start and by 07:30 the mostly Italian guests (lovely people, but famously loud) are babbling again in the dining hall.|The room from hell!|My daughter was luckier, her room was at the back and she didn't get the dining hall din.|I must say though, that we loved Ischia. The people living there not just friendly, but helpful. In May the flowers are amazing, the Island is not too busy and the food delicious. We'll go back, but sorry Punta del Sole, not...

Premetto che l'agenzia Gogo Viaggi ci ha cambiato hotel qualche giorno prima della partenza, poiché quello prenotato è rimasto chiuso. Siamo quindi finiti in questo hotel nel centro di Forio. Sicuramente la posizione è ottima, ma a parte questo aspetto purtroppo il resto lascia molto a desiderare. Appena arrivati, non essendo possibile entrare nell'area interna con l'auto e non essendoci parcheggi disponibili all'esterno abbiamo dovuto scaricare i bagagli in mezzo alla strada fuori dal complesso alberghiero e portarli a mano per almeno 100 metri fino all'ingresso, per scoprire poi che la nostra camera era al secondo piano senza ascensore. Fortunatamente siamo stati aiutati dal manutentore, un ragazzo gentilissimo e molto disponibile. Premetto che avevo prenotato una camera con balcone e necessariamente dotata di frigo e aria condizionata. Arrivati in camera, al secondo piano alla fine di un labirinto lunghissimo, a momenti mi viene un colpo. Una camera terribile, con un letto a ponte inquietante, un bagno osceno con una doccia con tendina, tra l'altro sporco. Un terrazzo che dava su una specie di magazzino all'aperto. Chiediamo di vedere altre stanze. Io rimango fuori dalla camera in attesa, mentre il mio compagno va con il manutentore a vedere altre camere. Successivamente mi ha riferito che le camere proposte erano nei sotterranei, una specie di camere seminterrate con finestre che davano sui sottoscala o su spazi adibiti a magazzino. Ovviamente il mio compagno ha rifiutato e fortunatamente mi sono risparmiata il piacere nel vedere tali oscenità. Alla fine, grazie al mio compagno e alla sua insistenza con i responsabili, al fine di riuscire ad avere una camera decente, e dopo aver pagato un supplemento, ci hanno dato una camera al secondo piano con vista sulla piscina, sicuramente molto meglio delle precedenti. Terrazzino spazioso, ventilato e con bella vista, dotato di tavolino, sedie e stendino. Camera con mobili vecchi stile anni 70/80, mancanza di prese di corrente vicine ai comodini. Minifrigo malfunzionante e dal quale proveniva un odore terribile. Nei giorni seguenti ce ne è stato portato un altro un po' più efficiente. Bagno con ventola pulito e funzionante. Aria condizionata. Armadio minuscolo. Nell'insieme la camera non era male. Personale delle pulizie gentile e disponibile. Passiamo alla cucina. Solo una parola: orribile. A parte la colazione in linea di massima decente, il pranzo e la cena erano una vera e propria punizione. Premetto che mangio di tutto e non ho mai avuto problemi in nessun luogo. Credo che neanche con tutto l'impegno possibile riuscirei a cucinare piatti così scadenti e disgustosi. Sempre le stesse pietanze ma cucinate in modo diverso. Pasta porzione mignon, spesso scotta e condita non si sa con cosa. Come secondo sempre gli stessi tocchetti di carne scura in brodaglia immangiabile o lo stesso pezzetto di pesce (pangasio o musdea). Come antipasto la stessa carne (una fettina insipida) con insalata. Il contorno inesistente. Come dolce una fetta di anguria o un pezzetto di dolce tipo ciambellone al cacao o sorbetto. Bevande self service. Nei giorni a venire il vino è stato allungato con acqua e l'olio d'oliva sostituito con olio trasparente. Fortunatamente siamo stati serviti spesso da due camerieri gentilissimi e disponibili, due ragazzi giovanissimi. Gli altri assolutamente non professionali. Siamo andati spesso a pranzo e a cena fuori. Giardino ben curato. Piscina esterna bella e pulita. Piscina termale coperta bella ma mal tenuta. Sauna e bagno turco rotti, in stato di abbandono. Quattro stelle assolutamente no! Massimo 2, o forse tre ma solo per la posizione. La struttura secondo me ha un grande potenziale ma andrebbe nettamente migliorato un po' tutto. Data la nostra esperienza lascio tre stelle come incoraggiamento. L'unico aspetto che di per se merita cinque stelle è il micio nero meraviglioso🐈‍⬛ ❤️ che ci aspettava nella hall per farsi coccolare: stupendo. Grazie micio per le coccole!...

I have been fortunate to be able to stay in the attractive Punta del Sole hotel on the beautiful island of Ischia in the bay of Naples. I went there as I was on my O.E. which included the opportunity to visit the amazing Amalfi Coast. Ischia was suggested to me from an italian friend and I must say It was just magic. Having stayed in Punta del Sole hotel I'm very surprised to read the bad comments below...perhaps I'm not that fussy but I felt the value for money I spent was ideal! The staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful when I requested a tour of the island. the food was quality and the portions were substancial! The enormous swimming pool within the hotel was just awesome. Ischia is well known and famous for the thermal water. Punta del Sole also offered an indoor hot pool of about 10m sq which included a spa area where the staff offered a very professional massage and other spa treatments.
