We just spent a few great days at Hotel La Chance for skiing. Its an absolutley lovely hotel. Fantastic friendly helpful lovely staff. We had half-pension and the food was a fantastic Italien 4-course dinner every night. Delicious wines are served for 3EUR/glass. The breakfast is also really good with lots of choices, egg, bacon, scrambled eggs, yoghurts, han, cheese, serveras choices of breads etc. Lots of gluten-free choices.||The rooms are spacious with great bathrooms. The beds are however extremely hard so the only room for improvement would be to invest in top matresses on the beds! I guess us Nordic people are much more used to softer beds so these hard beds makes it very hard to sleep.||||The hotel is really close to the slopas. Its however. an uphill of approx 400m to the lifts which is a good warm up for skiing but a bit of a challenge for kids. But its very easy to drive up there! There is a big parking. No queues for the ski lifts. Only Italians skiing there :-)||Pila is a lovely ski area, really well prepared, perfect for 1-3 days of skiiing with 17 lifts but we took the car to La Theuil one day which is highly recommmended😊. 1.5hr drive. ||||Don’t miss this little...
Read moreIf you choose to stay at the La Chance invest in a room on the Mont Blanc side of the hotel. The views are so fantastic especially as the rising sun catches Mont Blanc in the morning.||We stayed in a Junior Suite (room 503). A lovely spacious room with a bath and separate shower.||The hotel is well located for the main lifts in Pila. The lifts are a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Two uphill sections but nothing uncomfortable. ||We hired a ski locker at the gondola station for the week for 38 euro to save carrying equipment every day - a worthwhile spend.||The hotel staff are very helpful, friendly and welcoming. We stayed half board. The food was very good and plentiful. Drinks are not expensive, 3 euro for a glass of wine and 2.50 for a coffee.||The lounges downstairs are spacious and comfortable. It would have been nice if the fire was lit each night though. It would have just made it more cosy!||Well worth visiting Aosta. It's included on your lift pass so you can take the gondola down. It's a 17 minute ride with great views then a 10 minute walk into the town centre.||This was our third trip to Pila. We are returning in Jan 2021 and have already booked to stay at the La...
Read more1 week for 3 in a family room. Easy check in, clean room, good temp control system and nice shower room. Breakfast was great - plenty of choice. Evening food was good too - massive portions. We hired skis through the hotel which was easy and good value - all ready for us in the boot room, we also got our lift passes from the hotel - so easy. Locker room near the lifts made life easier…lifts are a 10 (max) min walk from the hotel in ski boots - pretty straight forward. There is a mini market near the lift along with pizzeria ski equipment shop and a gift shop - most handy! Also to note for young children a snow fun park opposite the hotel and sure this would have been used if my children were younger! |Bedroom and bathroom was very dark - maybe brighter bulbs needed?! Evening meal time does get very busy - staff are great and manage you well. There is an alternative choice for the kids at night but we were not told about this till 3rd night - so there are options if fussy kids don’t fancy the main menu…- these minor negatives were not an issue - for hotel management...
