Hotel Saraceno — Hotel in Isola del Giglio

We had a beautiful time at the hotel. The Location was a few minutes walk from the port and the city center. The room had everything we needed and was only a few steps away from the restaurant where we had breakfast every morning. The restaurant staff were friendly and attentive and the food and coffee options were great. We didn’t have lunch or the dinner there though. Overall, I wanted to give it a 5 star rating but the only negative part was a miscommunication with the hotel staff where we had asked if they did laundry, which they replied “yes, just leave it on the bed” so we thought it was part of the hotel service. Before leaving, we left a tip for the cleaning lady to thank her but as we were returning the keys, we were informed that we owed 80€ for the laundry. We were never told there was a cost for laundry and 80€ was ridiculously high. However, the staff reduced it to €50 which we are thankful for but for the future, I’d recommend leaving a laundry list and the costs in each room so guests know how much each item...

Lovely hotel in an amazing location. Book a room with a balcony and sea view, it's worth it. To be clear, this is not a lavish place, (nor is Giglio in general), but its simplicity is part of its charm. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff-- especially the waiters, shout out especially to gracious Pasquale-- are very kind and make you feel so welcome. ||A tip: the stairs up to the hotel can get long in the heat if you're dragging luggage, but if you go up the back way (ask a local) you can avoid almost all of them. Giglio Island is a true hidden gem, and Hotel Saraceno for me has been the best way to fully enjoy the experience so far. It offers a breathtaking sea view, fantastic breakfast with a big variety of cakes, fresh croissants, and anything you could wish (I'm really missing it already), friendly and proactive staff, a spotless clean environment, excellent facilities, very comfortable rooms and bed, fridge in all rooms, and I'm really surprised that it is classed only as a 3 stars hotel, as it feels more a 4 stars.|Thanks to all the wonderful staff and in particular to the very kind and helpful Maitre d'Hotel...
