LA FILADELFIA — Hotel in Lipari

Conveniently located one block off Lipari's main street, about 300m from the ferry / hydrofoil port, La Filadelfia is a good choice for all types of customer from couples, families to groups. Rooms are clean, large, comfortable and well-furnished, and have all the necessary facilities. Although not in use so early in the year, there is a swimming pool and patio area. Breakfasts are perfectly adequate and include fresh, warm bread rolls and cakes. An archaeological site adjoins the hotel. ||||What stood out was how helpful the staff were. Visitors to the Aeolian Islands should be aware that they can live up to the name, and hydrofoils don't operate when winds/waves become excessive. With a group of 32 we were faced with being unable to reach Milazzo in time to make connections to Catania airport and return flight to UK. The hotel is run by the whole family - even the aunts and cousins, and I had a great time talking to each one! My favorite person is the cute and charismatic son managing the restaurant. It's in the center of downtown, 1 block away from the main street, but it's perfect to where you don't hear the nightlife. I love the private garden, pool, and bar outside. They also have a great dance/yoga/pilates studio in the basement where I sweated and toned up, whew! I also got a massage from the really sweet massage therapist who gave me a free clay mask on my face, hands, and feet for booking a 2 hour massage with her, what a relaxing thing to do! We have been just a few days. The hotel is the center of Lipari, walk distance from the port, a few meters from the main street with restaurants, bars and places to visit.||Free wifi in common areas but it is not protected. There is a small swimming pool in the internal court.||We were on half board and the restaurant was good with a very good choice. This was a plus, we enjoyed our dinners.||We were disappointed by the room, with old and ugly furniture. A serious renovation is needed. ||In the bathroom the toilet seat was cracked and the hand shower broken, IMHO it's not a big effort to replace such a kind of things that give a very bad impression.
