Il Cottage B&B — Hotel in Massa Lubrense

Il Cottage B&B is a fine villa-esque accommodation situated less than 15 minutes drive to the Sorrento city centre. Locating the cottage was very easy as the property is well-signed, and as you enter you are greeted by the lovely host. There is a sheltered area to park your car, free of charge, and the room is very spacious, beautifully furnished and most of all immaculately maintained. The bed was very comfortable, and the distance of the property from the road was perfect as the any outside noises were almost completed muted by the hills. The bathroom was excellent too, equipped with all the necessary amenities, and the shower provided a great consistency of hot water. The host was extremely hospitable as she was always available to answer our questions, give general advice and provide recommendations for "must-see" points of interest across Sorrento/Positano/Amalfi.||We stayed here for four days and couldn't fault a single thing about the place or its wonderful host. We had a wonderful time at Il Cottage. Giuseppe and his family were so welcoming and helpful, it felt like we were staying with family. The location is very good, not far from a supermarket and a pizzeria. It took us about 20 min to drive to the coast. The breakfast was really good, we got fresh italian pastries every morning, as well as delicious cold cuts and cheeses. Rita was incredibly kind to our 1-year old, she even offered to babysit for us one evening so we could go out for dinner. The room was always tidy and clean as they provided daily housekeeping. The garden was beautiful, our daughter really enjoyed looking at all the small statues that were placed around it. The parking area was right in front of our room which made it easy for us to load the car before every trip. They helped us book a day trip to Capri which was really fun and reasonably priced. We (a party of four adults) have just returned from the Sorrento peninsular, staying at ‘il cottage’ in one room and as a first time traveller to the region I have to say the experience was largely positive.||The accommodation was adequate for our needs as we were mainly travelling around the area by hire car so just needed a base to return to at night, it is ideally situated between the Naples area and the amalfi coast and if you are on a budget then this is a good place to stay.||Breakfast here is good especially if you like cake and you can also grab a cup of tea or coffee at other times in the well stocked kitchen area, we did have an itinerary to start with but instead followed the advice on places to visit by Giuseppe and his daughter Laura, who were both delightful and were very helpful without being intrusive, so a big thank you to them and also to his wife who keeps the place spotlessly clean and who also makes...
