Hotel la Bussola — Hotel in Massa

The hotel and staff were both lovely, it's a very peaceful location with beautiful scenery whilst being quite close to the beach. The walk to the free beach was only around 10 minutes, the entrance to it was near the restaurant "Osteria Sul Mare" as other entrances are paid. The beach was very lovely and the water actually got warmer at night. |The continental breakfast buffet was very delicious - a lot of options with yummy croissants. It can fill you up for most of the day, I only needed a snack at lunch. At breakfast they offer juice and water, and you can order coffee with no additional charge. The dinner offered at the hotel is €20 and includes four courses, a salad bar and the menu changes daily. I think it is not only great value for money but also very delicious. The Hor Dourves only had one option but all the other courses had 3-4 options to choose from.|The pool is clean and a good size and gets a lot of sun in the middle of the day so is quite warm, in the afternoon it's a bit chillier as the trees mean it doesn't get as much sun but it's still nice to swim in once you warm up. |For transport, there are a few bus links directly to the main town but we took taxis to the station - if you ask the hotel staff they will book your taxis for you which makes it very simple. There are free bikes to take from the hotel, just ensure the breaks are good and the bike tires are pumped up. We took the bikes to the beach, to the local CONAD and three of us biked to the main town to see the cathedral. The town is up a small incline so it is a lot easier to bike...

Stamattina chiamo l'albergo al telefono per sapere se c'è disponibilità di due matrimoniali per il weekend 29-30 Maggio, e mi dicono che c'è disponibilità. Chiedo quindi la gentilezza di tenerci "ferme" le camere almeno fino a domattina quando li avrei chiamati per confermare o meno la prenotazione e mi danno l'ok con preghiera di una richiesta scritta a mezzo mail in tal senso. Scrivo la richiesta a mezzo mail come indicatomi al telefono, chiedendo riscontro scritto. Nessun riscontro nell'arco della giornata. Sul tardo pomeriggio sollecito il riscontro e mi viene risposto che non ci sono più camere libere.|Non sono stati di parola. Un potenziale cliente ha chiesto una "gentilezza". Senza essere obbligati a farla si sono resi disponibili al telefono a fargliela dandogli pure indicazioni di fare la relativa richiesta per iscritto con una formale mail, in tal modo però "compromettendosi" con un impegno preso. Ma poi, solo dopo sollecito di riscontro alla richiesta di gentilezza, a fine giornata comunicano che non ci sono più camere libere. Il personale è gentilissimo e super qualificato, la pulizia delle stanze e dei luoghi comuni è eccellente (comprese le precauzioni Covid necessarie nel periodo). This hotel offers a calm and relaxing atmosphere as it is not located by the seafront or facing any major roads. It's located just a 5-10 minute walk from the beach and restaurants, which is very convenient. The staff is genuinely friendly and always ready to assist you, and the staff speaks English. They serve a complete breakfast, with the option to enjoy it outdoors.

The hotel features a pool, private parking, a large and beautiful garden with children's play areas and a ping pong table. They also offer a free bicycle rental service with locks. The rooms are entirely adequate for a hotel of this standard, and having an elevator is a notable advantage. All of this is offered at a reasonable rate.

The only drawback is the dinner. Comprising a salad buffet, appetizers, two courses, and dessert for only 20 euros, it is certainly a hearty and economical option for residents, but unfortunately, the quality is average. I believe that offering a nice salad buffet followed by a better-quality main course and dessert for a slightly higher price would be a better option
