I had such a magical experience at this place last week. Im not being over the top with that word. It's basically in a mini castle! From the second you pull up to the walls you are transported back in time. Francesco and Francesca are amazing hosts. Everyone who works there was friendly and attentive. From the moment we pulled in we felt like welcomed guests. We had a car and drove in, don't be afraid to go through the tight entrance. They have a nice secure parking lot behind a gate within the walls of Monteriggioni. I was in and out a lot and even late at night into the morning. They always had someone at the front reception to let us in with a smile. This was an important feature for my wife and I because we had a wedding nearby and came back and forth a lot. The grounds are very cute and pleasant. Our room was nice and clean and our window opened out into the street. It was fun to open it and feel right in the mix but it wasn't too loud. Read moreNothing can fault the stay at Hotel Monteriggioni, we were greeted with a friendly face on arrival (who really didn't take offence to our poor Italian!) and the rooms were spacious, airy and immaculate with stunning views of the ancient structures surrounding the hotel. Breakfast was lovingly prepared and served on the patio area with attentive staff offering coffee options but not before wishing us a good morning with the biggest smiles. The location is picturesque and oozing with culture, however take note that taxis are hard to come by and can be hefty in price. We visited Tuscany for a wedding nearby and were stumped when it came to transport, however the staff at the hotel were more than happy to help and made life that little bit less stressful.
