We really enjoyed our stay at the Micalo art room hotel. When we arrived - we were a little concerned as the internal courtyard you enter to get to the hotel looks a little run down - although we soon realised this is what Naples is like. Don’t worry - once you arrive at the hotel it is very modern and spotless. We had Seaview rooms - which were lovely. Great bed, and soundproof shutters which come in handy. Beautiful high ceilings and lots of natural light. Housekeeping do a great job as the rooms are spotless. If mobility is an issue, this might not be the place for you as their are steep stairs to the bathroom within your room. Looking at an internal room, the layout is slightly different, and I think the sea view layout is better. That said plumbing is great - good water pressure, shower, bath etc. We all loved breakfast - every day there were several new local treats to try, made by the staff, with fruit picked from their garden. The host Giovanna is amazing. She explained the local delicacies and customs, suggested places to see and arranged our taxis (also advising us exactly how much to pay). She was on hand every morning to answer any questions. Many good restaurants nearby and easy to get to attractions, shops etc. If we go back to Naples we would...
Read moreThe place was fine. It was clean and well-maintained. The common areas are nicely decorated, and access to and from the building is fine. Location is also great. I'd stay again if I had to, but I'd also be open to other options. ||The reason is completely based on the room I had: it had a window facing a wall of another building, and pigeons sitting (and crapping) on the aircon outside all day. As a result, I didn't want to leave the window open all day (because they could get in) and the place felt a little damp. ||I did have a good stay, but I think this particular room is not the best one. A sea view (from what I have seen) would have been better and would allow more air in.||I'm fit and healthy, but for older people: as others are saying, the bathrooms are all upstairs. It's a smart use of space, but the stairs are very steep, and the railings don't feel very safe for someone that depends on them. The bathtubs/shower require a big step to get in and out of. This would not be great for kids or older...
Read moreBreakfast: It was amazing. There were several options between salty and sweet. Many kinds of juices, fruits, yogurts, cheese, ham, bread. There is always a nice girl or guy that helps you with the coffee. From the dining room you can see the sea and the Vesuvio volcano! Location: It's perfectly located close to the US consulate. It took us 5 minutes to get to out appointment! Perfect! The area might be a bit busy because of the constructions, but I'm sure that it will look great once they're done. The area is also great to visit the most iconic places in Naples. Room: The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom has everything we could need. There was shampoo/conditioner, soap, cream, towels, robes. There was a very big tv and AC. Staff: extremely...
