Camping Internazionale di Castelfusano — Hotel in Rome

Just now getting around to reviewing this excellent bargain of a place to stay while touring Rome. It was a great value and find. We were able to use the convenient metro to connect to Rome just a couple of km. down the rode. In all honesty, our family of four had visited this campground back in May 2012 and I had promised the owner then that I would review his place. Always had best intentions, then I had misplaced their business card but recently found it again. Nevertheless, this campground is still a great place to stay. Quiet, clean, well-maintained two-bedroom / 1 WC trailer we rented had comfortable beds, furnished linens, kitchenette with utensils and worked well for our family. We were able to purchase what food we needed to prepare at the campground store. This saved our budget considering prices were a third of what we had found if had we stayed in Rome. The 2 km. walk to the metro took a short while, but once there, we were able to reach our destinations in Rome in 20-30 min. So we chose this camping to stay to visit Rome, relying on the good reviews. We got here and the staff was really friendly and helpful until the moment we didn't want to give our passports to them as a guarantee. There is a page in a Dutch passport that tells the document belongs to the Kingdom of The Netherlands and is not allowed in the possession of thirds without a statutory obligation to do so. So I showed them and she said ''yeah I know, I know'' and we could keep them. From that moment on, the staff was less friendly than in the beginning and they talked about us behind our backs. Just because they wanted our passports so bad. ||Camping is close to the beach, nice and clean. The two pools on the camping are just pools you can buy at home (Lidl) and not very clean. Sanitary is primitive and is cleaned just by hose. No warm water in the evening. ||Pizza's on the camping are real good and the staff in the campingshop is really nice!||It's a pity you cannot checkout a day before you want to leave. ||So in the end a normal, not special camping for a...
