La Spiaggia — Local services in Rome

We've spent a wonderful day at La Spiaggia, I must say. Every one we dealt with was quite cheerful and welcoming. We might have been lucky enough to have accidentally picked the right day as well (the temperature was very high so the water was just unbelievably enjoyable), which helped boost the overall experience. It was my first time at Ostia Lido (so didn't know where to go, plenty of 'stabilimenti') and what made me go for La Spiaggia is the convenience of being able to book my day, read the T&C's and know everything I was looking for through a mobile app, extra points for this one!! There is an infinite number of parking slots outside the place but although we've been there on a week day, they were all occupied. Happy surprise, we found out that just opposite to the main gate there is a dedicated parking area to La Spiaggia guests (€4/day to pay at the reception, though). They also have cabins (for a daily charge) of different sizes if you wanna a private place to keep your precious belongings (along with free changing rooms and showers if you don't feel like having a cabin of your own). The only disappointment was that we missed the hot lunch time (offered until 3 pm) so we had to go for panini and club sandwiches, but that also provided us enough energy to have one more warm bath before leaving for the day. Had a great experience visiting this beach in Rome. It is not a free beach and you can pay on arrival if they have availability or book online. I was able to book online, it was slightly cheaper and very easy to book. Upon arriving to the entrance, I was directed towards the beach where I was given the chairs and umbrella I had booked. The beach was clean and had great views of the sea. It did not feel crowded despite it being busy. There are plenty of changing rooms if required and toilets to use. There are also volleyball courts, which are a great addition. There is no free water fountain but drinks are available from the bar, this includes cold water, which was priced at €1.70 which is quite good and variety of beers, among coffee. Di Venerdì mi sono presentato all'ingresso con mio figlio chiedendo di poter prendere un ombrellone ed un lettino, di risposta la signorina, molto gentile, mi ha informato del fatto che dovevo prendere un ombrellone e due lettini essendo due persone. Spiegato che mio figlio di 13 anni ha gli amici all'interno dello stabilimento e che non avrebbe mai utilizzato il secondo lettino e che non avevo necessità di prenderlo. In conclusione viene chiamata in causa, giustamente, la proprietaria, la quale non facendomi neanche finire di parlare mi informa che le loro postazioni sono composte da un ombrello e due lettini e che vanno acquistate così come sono, anche se fossi stato da solo al costo di 23 euro 🤨. A questo punto ho salutato ed ho preso un ombrellone ed un lettino al costo di 14 euro come a me serviva allo stabilimento confinante che non conoscevo, dove ho mangiato benissimo ad un ottimo prezzo ed hanno anche la piscina.
