Hotel La Torraccia — Hotel in Tarquinia

If you're looking for a hotel with new finishing in the area this is it. We were about to get on a cruise at Civitavecchia but couldn't find a decent hotel that was recently renovated. We didn't like old bathrooms, old beddings and old toilets :) ||||So everything was recently remodeled and clean. One drawback was the lack of elevator so we had to pull our big suitcases up one level. Also my first time that hotel did not provide a blanket.... only a flat sheet was on the bed upon check in. We asked the staff to give us one later which was fine. Staff were overall helpful and nice.||||Hotel was around 3-4 blocks away from beach. We went in mid Sept and the neighborhood was extremely quiet. Most of the nearby restaurants (rated fairly good on tripadvisor) were CLOSED all day. Not sure if they would remain closed all months except summer holidays. No shops nearby. So it would just be a place to sleep with...

This hotel was a positive surprise to us. After spending some nights in small old town hotels and narrow streets, Tarquinia and La torracca was different. Spacious suite for 2+2 people, newly renovated modern design, AC, good shower etc. Breakfast is quite good (compared to Italian experiences we have had) with coffee, yogurt, serials, fresh fruits, bread + cheese&ham, and of course a selection of excellent cakes and croissant. Hotel is very well located; 400m to the beach (in which the hotel guests get chairs&sun cover for free) and the best reviewed restaurant next to beach (we tried Falciano -great seafood). Stayed at Hotel La Torraccia after crossing from Barcelona to Civitavecchia. Only 13 miles North from the ferry terminal. Was hesitant with regards the reservations based on other TA reviews. But turned out very positive. TheB&B is an absolute gem. We arrived at 1930 and parked outside the grounds, in front of the hotel. No evening meals are served but there are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. The young lady on reception booked a table for us - Great service. The hotel, reception and rooms are fresh and clean. Our room had A/C with a nice large bed. Breakfast was taken outside, typical Italian offering all that was needed.||Price/quality very good.
