Vivosa Apulia Resort — Hotel in Ugento

We came here 6 years ago and it was absolutely amazing on every level. We wanted to come back.|But what a disappointment… it has turned into a factory! If you’re looking for peace and quiet, there are way too many kids (poorly behaved, though that’s not the hotel’s fault)! You really feel the vibe of the “new rich” Italians, competing to show who’s made it best, with a nanny for their kids or rude teenagers who already look down on everyone.||The positives: Yes, we ate very well, and a few of the longtime staff are still very friendly. The setting is beautiful, the pools are very large and pleasant. There are water fountains everywhere. You can’t really get around without booking through the excursion service. The grounds are well maintained. The path to the beach is still just as fantastic.||The downside: The spa is nice but honestly, the massage was so basic, like it was done by a student just wanting to finish her shift. My 12-year-old daughter gives the same kind of massages. Disappointed.||The negative: Be careful at the beach—don’t get tricked into booking your spot in advance at Cocoloco. It’s way too expensive and the loungers are too close together! It’s outrageous, and they tell you that otherwise you won’t get a spot. That’s not true! There are plenty of free spots, and when you arrive, they repeat ten times that it’s non-refundable. No wonder—once you see it, you’d want your money back.||The worst: the cleaning ladies! So unfriendly. We’re on holiday, and they come by at 8 am!? They knock on the doors or, if you put up the “do not disturb” sign, they make as much noise as possible right outside your room to wake you up, or they come in anyway! Not a smile, not a kind word. Ladies, maybe think about changing careers—and don’t expect any tips!||In short, I’ll definitely keep the memory of my first stay here, which is why I’m giving a good rating, and will quickly try to forget...

We travelled to this hotel with 2 kids.Very lovely the main structure of restaurants and reception with extensive manicured gardens full of aromatic herbs like rosemary and lavender. Unfortunately this was not reflected in our room which was not spacious at all and the bathroom was so narrow, you would struggle to seat on the toilet! As we were on the ground floor we were supposed to have direct access to the garden and sunbeds. Alas! A very aggressive ants colony was busy working just outside our door and despite calling reception 3-4 times asking for help with it, nothing was done about it, so we couldn’t even walk out without being bitten. On the other side. Big thumbs up to the kids club staff Giulia and Michele and the baby dance nights. They always tried to get our kids involved in the activities. Chilled water fountain close to the room was great .Beach and pools are lovely and the kids really enjoyed them. Food was delicious too but let’s be honest the all inclusive formula works well if you like to eat a lot. Overall good but just not justifying...

Abbiamo scelto questo RESORT sopratutto in base alle recensione entusiastiche lette in rete. In massima parte possiamo condividere quelle recensione. Il Resort nel suo complesso è all’altezza dei più bei Resort pari classe che abbiamo visitato. La camera è sempre stata ben pulita, spaziosa e luminosa. Le strutture sono nuove e in grado di ospitare in maniera comoda un migliaio (!) di ospiti. il Personale è tra i migliori che abbiamo mai incontrato nelle precedenti vacanze. Sempre sorridenti e gentilissimi, tutti, veramente tutti: i camerieri, i barman, i bagnini , le receptionist ecc. sono sempre stati molto professionali, aggiungendoci però quella punta di gentilezza evidentemente connaturata alla gente della Puglia. Complimenti specialmente ai Barman Martin e Eugenio, al nostro cuoco di fiducia Marcello e alla più simpatica e brava Personal Trainer e animatrice: la cara Molly. Il cibo è sempre stato di buona qualità anche se poco variato. Dovendo fare un appunto direi che le verdure cotte arrivavano sempre molto fredde ed insipide. Certo la possibilità di scelta nelle proposte era ampia ma non eccelsa come ci era stato descritto nelle recensioni fatte da persone che probabilmente non avevano mai visto prima un altro Resort e non conoscevano il livello medio di questa classe di accomodamenti per le vacanze. Le piscine sempre pulite e con i vari idromassaggi a disposizione . La SPA molto bella con piscina calda e praticello annesso. La spiaggia e sopratutto il mare “caraibico” veramente secondo le aspettative. Purtroppo l’affollamento di agosto e sopratutto il problema delle correnti marine che stanno erodendo il litorale con relativa riduzione della spiaggia rendono l’arenile molto affollato. Alcolici e superalcolici veramente di buonissimo livello. Segnalo il caffè salentino (espresso dolcificato con latte di mandorle) fatto alle sapienti mani delle ragazze del bar centrale e del bar sulla spiaggia. Notevole il lougebar con annessa terrazza che dal sul complesso della piscine. Ora le dolenti note : La presenza della animazione per bimbi ha portato molte famiglie con figli al Resort. Bambini a cui era permesso di fare tutto (solo quelli italiani però, i piccoli stranieri erano guardati a vista dai turisti esteri molto più educati). Se siete una coppia che cerca più tranquillità mi sento di NON consigliare questo bel Resort. Come secondo appunto direi che l’animazione serale era veramente scarsa, ma credo che sia una scelta della direzione, visto che la maggioranza degli ospiti è composta da famigliole che a fine giornata non vedono l’ora di mettere i pargoli a letto e farsi una bella dormita. Nel complesso è stata una bella vacanza, in un mare superbo, sempre pulito e calmo. Personale all’altezza e organizzazione impeccabile (Un nostro esempio per tutti : rottura della chiave elettronica all’una di notte e impossibilità di entrare in camera. Nel giro di pochissimi minuti il tecnico chiamato dalla reception ha risolto il problema). Curando di più l’aspetto della cucina che dovrebbe essere forse rivista nella varietà dei piatti e sulla densità (eccessiva) degli scatenati baby italici, possiamo dire che il VIVOSA potrebbe diventare una pietra di paragone con altri Resort pari classe.
