My husband and I stayed at this ryokan for one night, after reading the excellent reviews. We had expected a remote and cozy ryokan, but was a little disappointed with the location. Yes it is by the sea, but there is a huge road between the ryokan and the sea!. So you get an ocean view plus a road view, and when you open the windows, it can be a little bit noisy. ||Besides that, we were overall satisfied with this ryokan. The food, mainly made up of seafood, was excellent. The staff were very friendly. My husband and I both speak Japanese, so we don't know about the staff's English abilities, but the way they worked made us believe that they are very professional.||The room we stayed in had a 'rotenburo(out-door tub)' but I would not recommend this room type. The rotenburo was a small tub, manufactured with rubber-like material. The numerous||(6 onsens plus one family onsen) onsens are much better.||The kazuku-buro (family onsen) has a sign that shows vacancy, so you don't have to worry about sharing it with strangers.||The onsen's temperature was hotter than the other onsens I've been to, so keep that in mind. I would recommend this place in colder weather. ||There is nothing worth seeing near the ryokan, you have to go to Atami (approximately 15 minutes drive) or Hakone...
Read moreWe ended up staying here for 2 nights as a last minute change when we found out that our room at Hotel Micuras in Atami had no windows, or at least none that you could see through or open.||||Ultimately we think that it was a fortunate incident as we really enjoyed it here.||||What we liked:||Beautiful view over bay;||Large 2nd floor room - 10 atami mats plus seating area and balcony;||2 private Onsen with views over bay. More Onsen on ground floor, really well appointed with nice rotenburo;||Breakfast served in room (2500jpy each per day) is spectacular;||Good staff, not intrusive at all;||Very cheap, around 10000jpy each per day or less; ||Short walk to station, with atami and Ito about 10 minutes away by train.||||Not so much:||Very few food options within walking distance, better to catch train to Ito where there are plenty, or Atami;||Road out front of hotel is quite busy.||||All told, really good. We didn't have dinner here but from the quality of the breakfast I'd expect it...
