Stayed at this hotel as part of a tour group. Since we needed a triple room, they provided a room with tatami mats instead of beds. Our bus was caught in a jam and we arrived at about 10 pm. It was nice that they provided our meals via room service as we were famished. ||||The triple room is rather spacious with a small entrance hall, separate toilet and bath, sleeping area with a meal table and a small hall with 2 single seater sofas next to the window. The furnishings do look rather old and need a refresh, although the experience of sliding walls to close off each area is very a uniquely Japanese experience.||||The toilet was really small, with just enough room to get in and sit on the throne. The bathroom was not much bigger. The bathtub was small but deep, which meant that one could soak in it. The body wash and soap though were stuck to a large plastic holder. With 3 bottles stuck together it was rather impractical and I finally placed it balancing precariously on the sink. The usual amenities like toothbrush and shaver were provided as was a hair dryer and kettle. The water in Japan is potable right out of the tap, but we still filled the kettle to heat it up.We arrived too late to try out the hot baths (onsen) in the hotel itself as we were all tired out from the bus ride (the baths are open 24 hours).||||The breakfast was rather simple, but the congee with local pickles was excellent. ||||A really rustic Japanese experience which could do with upgrading or refresh of the...
Read moreThis hotel has a nice view of Mt. Fuji and is located in a nice rural setting. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but have everything supplied. The towels are small and not very thick. The dinner was average but the breakfast was of a higher standard. The main attraction at this hotel is the hot spring spa where guest are required to shower before and after the spa. One enters the spa naked but is divided into male and female spas. Do not be afraid as nobody takes notice of one another and after the spa one feels great. This is a nice hotel which I rank on the lower end of four stars. Well...
