It might seem weird that I am giving a 5-star review without even staying in this hotel. But I want to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the owner for how she handled a mistake.
I booked a room at this hotel for my family of four from Expedia months before. The location is very good. A short walk from the train station with supermarket nearby. But when we arrived in the afternoon, we encountered a problem. The owner obviously made an error with their booking, and we were told that they were extremely sorry that they didn't have a room for us. I was mad at first as we have kids and quite some luggage and I was planning to tour Enoshima after checking in the hotel.
The owner, a kind lady who was running business at the coffee shop, kept apologizing while making effort to book us a room with another hotel. We expressed the preference for a room with multiple beds (just as what we booked in her hotel) as we don't want to share single-bed with our 11-year-old boys. So she booked a big room in a nearby hotel, and she walked with us there.
She paid a much higher price for this room than what we paid her. Only later that we realized that we could have asked her to book two regular rooms with two beds, which is actually cheaper than a big room with 4 beds.
I know this is something nobody wants to encounter during a vacation. But we were very satisfied how she resolved the problem. BTW, she also gave us a bag of ground coffee, which is very good (much better than Starbucks in...
Read moreThe hotel was honestly really great! I will never say no to modern Japanese bathrooms, and the fact that the shower pod can double as a clothes dryer as well is just a plus.
The stairs are a little scary but you get used to it really fast if you’re staying on the upper floor! For the price you get a good large suite with a washer and kitchenette.
If you’re intending to stay for 2+ weeks you can save some room with all the washing you can do! Honestly working with 4-6 outfits is comfortable if you’re staying here.
Fujisawa station is really close, maybe a 10 minute walk. At the station there are tons of shops and restaurants. If you’re looking for a cheap bento meal that isn’t a conbini, there is a summit grocery store not far at all from the station! You can get tons of good bento/precooked meals from there.
As for locales you can travel to. Yokohama station is only 3 stops away. The enoden green train departs from the station too. Ofuna is one stop away and has a connecting monorail, one of the fastest I’ve ever been on, line that takes you all the way to enoshima! Totsuka station is also nothing to snooze at. There is a cozy department store there that has really good souvenirs. It’s called “blue bluette”. The tokaido line is the main line that you’d take in Fujisawa, and that’s the line that will take you all the way to Tokyo, or on the opposite end, Odawara, which is a great castle you should visit if you...
Read moreOverall a good relaxing experience. Handy quiet location with loads of restaurants and eateries nearby. OK branded supermarket up the road is by far less expensive than convenience store food. The room has a well equiped kitchen, utensils, though well used, are still in good condtion. Our room could accomodate another two people but you would have to climb a ladder to get to the beds in the loft. Not sure if this would suit some people other than teenagers. The "reception area" is part of the coffee shop adjoining the property - coffee shop opens from 10am. We would stay here again. Beds were quite...
