Houei Ryokan — Hotel in Fukui

Due to the weather, we arrived wet, and the owner gave us towels with which to dry off, as well as house-made macha tea and a sweet bean paste treat for our welcome, along with a crane origami piece she had made for us. ||The downstairs main area had computers available, local info brochures in Japanese info, a TV, and chairs to sit on, while the bfast room had Western tables and chairs. ||The downstairs bath had 3 shower heads, a dressing room and a signup list. Guests can sign up for a spot at any time available in a 24 hour period. The private bath had shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, Qtips, razors and towels. ||||Our upstairs room was a good sized tatami mat room with two windows and an entry way with toilet, sink, and fridge. The room had tea bags, electric pot, TV, plus a low table and cushions. The futons were all prepared but rolled up against a wall. || On both mornings, we got a nice sized bfast made for us that was rice, tea, miso soup, plus soft cooked egg with bacon and salad, a seaweed dish and one other. All good and not salty! Yeah! ||The owner was always friendly with us, as was the rest of her staff. The inn is nicely sized, well sound proofed and the guests were courteous. We enjoyed our stay immensely, with a good location and comfortable quarters. We chatted a bit at the last day with the owner, who gave us a macha tea making lesson, and face towels as a departure gift. ||We would recommend staying here for the atmosphere, staff, and location, right...

This ryokan a 15 minute walk from the main train station.||The owner and staff were friendly and helpful, showed us around the ryokan and gave us local recommendations, the owner even gave us a lift to a restaurant she recommended! The room was of Japanese style, it was big and clean. Beds were already prepared. The room has a private toilet and washing basin, the bath and shower were downstairs and were shared with other guests. スキーへ行く前泊として宿泊しました。小学校低学年と未就学児を含む4人です。||||交通手段は車。1boxの中でも大きめの車なので、立体駐車場などが厳しい中、||ここの旅館は平面で駐車できました。こういうストレスがないのも重要ですね。||||夕食も朝食もついていないプランだったので、食事に外へ出ましたが、||福井駅からも徒歩圏内で、特に迷うような道はなく、食べるにもコンビににも困りませんでした。||||お部屋は、とても広かったです。||トイレ、バス、洗面は全て別々で、６畳和室と4.5畳の和室がつながったタイプでした。||お風呂は部屋にもついていましたが、共同のお風呂もあり、家族で入れます。||ドアに吊ってある予約表に時間帯を記入するのですが、||我々が泊まった時は、あまり予約が入ってなく、好きな時間帯を選べました。||||お布団もふかふかで気持ちよかったです。||ゆっくりくつろげました。||||翌朝、スキーに向かうため、朝早く出発だったのですが、||女将さんが出てきてくださり、我々の姿が見えなくなるまで見送ってくださいました。||寒い中、本当にうれしかったです。||||旅館、ということですこし身構えていたのですが、||アットホームでほっこりして、居心地よく、||ゆっくりできた1泊でした。ま...
