I traveled alone, it was a magical experience. Everything was beautiful, the room was big and confortable, I loved the view from my window and the open air onsen with wood and stone outisde. I specially loved I had a little forest with some bamboos all for myself, and I was also able to see the seashore from there too! The best of both worlds at room 302. The public open air baths and inner baths were amazing, from 9pm to 11pm youn can use them privately. They're really big facilities, all for myself, it was great. I enjoyed visiting them at night and day, and you have every necessities covered, including body lotions and hair dryer or weight machines in all baths. You also have ice water available in the baths. I had water and a tea set in my room too. The view from the open air ones was really nice, you could see the sea from there too. It was really peaceful, you could bath and enjoy the calming sound of water. One of the baths also had a cocoon hanging chair where I was able to chill when I wanted to dry and leave or just a break from the hot water for a little bit.
I also had dinner and breakfast. It was amazing, they included different courses of traditional Japanese food for dinner and you had a big variety of drinks to choose. I was seated by the window, it was a nice place. I was able to roast my own fish and clam in a charcoal grill, and for breakfast they provided a little oven to keep the miso soup warm.
I don't speak much japanese, but the staff was kind and very helpful. Some of them speak English and they were always available to help me if I had a question. Their driver went to receive me at the train station, the communication by booking mail was awesome, and they also provided me the train schedule for the next day so I couls pick the time and dropped me there by car at noon. The staff also helped me pick the ticket to visit a zoo nearby, and accompanied me inside.
I would like to visit the hotel again in winter, I'm certain this will remain as one of my favorite ryokans in the future. I would recommend it to all my friends.
Thanks for the...
Read moreI don’t even know where to begin—this was one of the best stays we’ve ever had! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with the warmest hospitality. We first relaxed in the lobby with freshly prepared matcha and traditional sweets, which set the tone for a truly special experience.
Our host took the time to explain everything about the hotel as well as our room. The room itself was beautifully decorated in a traditional Japanese style—everything was thoughtfully arranged and aesthetic. The sea view from the room is immaculate. Soaking in the private while gazing out at the sea was pure bliss. Don’t miss the main house hot spring either—it’s well-decorated and comes with all the amenities you need. Once you enter, your group gets the entire space to yourselves (first-come, first-served from afternoon until next morning). Stargazing from the hot spring on a clear night is truly unforgettable.
Since there aren’t many restaurants nearby, we opted for in-room dining, and it was a great decision. The meal felt cozy and homestyle, clearly made with fresh, local ingredients.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing hot spring getaway with excellent service and a touch of authentic...
Read moreLoved our stay here! Ended our 2 week japan trip with a ryokan tour on the coast. Highly recommend that ;) This place is great for couples since you can enjoy the large outdoor onsen space together (which you can’t do a most ryokans). The 2 main onsens can lock and you just need to see when it’s open which it frequently was. The ocean views around the property were calming and beautiful.
The food was amazing and so beautiful. Portions were great and always was stuffed! Had to ask my husband to finish a few dishes for me.
Amazing attention to detail from the staff. There’s even a real fresh ikebana (flower arrangement) in your room!!!
We later stayed at Japanese speaking only ryokan and we then appreciated our stay at isaribi so much more. Shout out to Kazu and our 2 lovely room attendants for translating for us and making it feel comfortable!!! It’s hard to appreciate food if you don’t have the English explanation of what you’re eating lol.
Even though it was super comfortable as an English speaker it definitely did not sacrifice any of the Japanese feel. Was not a touristy...
