Ikariya — Restaurant in Higashiizu

We discovered Ikariya as we were lodging in a nearby ryokan. It is a steep walk up a hill, but worth it for the food and grand view of the ocean. The restaurant interior was clean, surfer, izakaya vibes with pop American music playing, so the atmosphere was pleasant and enjoyable. We had the pizza with fresh tomato and uncured ham, spaghetti bolognese (garlic bread included), Caesar salad and lemon sours for drinks. Everything was freshly made and it's quite impressive how spread the menu is with a small kitchen and with one man doing everything. An English menu is available and we spent around 3600 yen for our meal. We ate everything and left full and satisfied. The restaurant is run by just one man so expect a longer time to receive your meal, which we had no problem with doing. He did seem a bit cold at first when we arrived but he was polite upon delivering our dishes and very thankful when we finished our meals and paid, so don't take his initial demeanor too seriously. We would definitely return if we are ever back in the area and we hope his restaurant...

Amazing hidden gem! You walk 2-3 mins up a steep hill to get to this place.

It has beautiful views of the beach and nature around. Seems to be run by one man. We had to wait a little bit as he was serving 5 others first but otherwise can't complain.

以前、タカアンドトシの " 帰れマンデーみっけ隊 " の「今が満開!伊豆の河津桜2大祭りを目指す、秘境乗り継ぎ旅!」でタカトシやロッヂ中岡などが訪れたIKARIYA。 放送観てからずっと行く機会を窺ってました😁。 今回主人と二人で伊豆を旅行することになったので、主人にお願いして連れて来て貰いました😊。

お店があるのは伊豆急行伊豆大川駅。 国道135号からアクセスした場合、伊豆大川駅に向かうメインの坂道ではなくて、大川観光協会 磯の湯の駐車場に進むちょ～狭い道😱へ曲がります。 磯の湯の駐車場を通り過ぎてから直ぐ先を右折。 物凄～く狭い急な坂道をグングン登ります。 対向車が来たらどう避けたら良いのか解りません😅。 ただただ対向車が来ないことを祈って・・・。 今回は事前にgoogle mapのストリートビューで下調べ済みだったので迷うことなく行くことが出来ました👍。

ウチが駐車場に車を入れてたら、民宿からご主人が慌てて現れました。 GWとは言え平日だからか前客ゼロでした😅。 まぁ、開店時刻に合わせて来たのですけどね。 ご主人はあまり愛想が無い寡黙な方です。 でも不快ではないです。

窓から見える景色は本当に絶景✨！ 坂を登って来た甲斐があるなぁ😍。 店内BGMは心地良い洋楽🎵。 メニューを見て口頭でオーダー。 正直美味しそうなメニューが沢山あったので、めっちゃ迷いました。

15分くらいで料理登場。 私が注文したのは “ 生ハムとトマトのピザ🍕(Sサイズ) “ と “ ジンジャエール(辛口) “ 。 ピザ🍕は通常は大きいサイズなのですが、直径18cmと小さなSサイズもあります。 小食な私にはピッタリ👍。 ジンジャエール🥤も関東では普通の甘口しか見かけないので、辛口は嬉しい🥰ですね。 主人は “ やわらかハンバーグ “ と “ アイスコーヒー “ 。

早速食べます🥢。 " 生ハムとトマトのピザ " は、自家製のピザ生地の表面に生ハム🥩。 ピザ生地はクリスピータイプではなくてハンドトスタイプ。 焼き立て熱々なので火傷注意⚠️。 生ハム🥩の下にはトマト🍅とたっぷりのミートソース。 ミートソースが結構ボリュームがあります。 美味しい😋！！
