Myself and my husband arrived here for a 6 night stay, easy to get to via the free shuttle bus from Fukushima station or you can get the local bus from stop no. 7, it runs around every hour and costs 840yen for the trip around 40 minutes.||||when we arrived, the staff were SO nice, nothing was a bother for them, they greeted us and even explained everything. the hostel is beautiful. There is a big dining area, with a good sized kitchen, good utensils and a great big window running along the edges of the building, a real nice place to fix up some food. ||||we got into the room and it was very large, with its own toilet and small seating area with a view of the river and mountain side. The sound of the river really helped my husband relax. there is also a small area with a good sized mirror to do your makeup and wash up in the room etc. All tatami mats were in excellent condition and no bad smell! Plenty of storage space for suitcases and things, extra bedding and cushions etc. ||||The public onsen was amazing, the water really helped my skin become soft and clean, it was never too busy and they don't lock the doors after a certain time, so this is very nice to relax mostly alone!. They did swap the males and the females once whilst we were there so everyone gets to experience both baths. ||||They allowed us to use a private onsen, which was truly amazing! an open air wooden bath and an indoor bath too, these were really special, they allowed us to use them free of charge for one night of our choice, just as a little treat!||||One of the days, after making friends with one of the staff, he asked us if we wanted to go for a drive up to Mt Azuma, myself and my husband agreed as we didn't hire a car. it was a great day, climbing the mountain with our new friend, it felt like we had known him forever.||||We did try breakfast a couple of days whilst staying here, it was delicious, however when we took a trip into Fukushima on the shuttle bus we grabbed our own ingredients and tried to copy the breakfast. There is enough storage space in the kitchen to store your things for cooking. ||||Local food is good, however there is not a large selection within walking distance, we recommend the gyoza from Miraku, which is just a short walk from the hostel. we ended up eating and drinking here 3 times! the staff are so nice!||||On a side note there are not many tourists here, its a nice experience, the 'Real' Japan, that is waiting for people to see, I can't begin to tell you how nice every single person was in this town, nothing is EVER too much.||||We will defiantly be back, but next time we might hire a car to explore the neighbouring towns. Plenty to do by foot, but for a longer stay I would recommend hiring a car.||||Special thanks to all the staff at Yumori for making our trip so...

Spent 3 nights at this wonderful hostel. The staff are all wonderful, and their facilities are excellent. Highly recommended!

There is a social area on the first floor of the hostel that has a fully equipped kitchen, plenty of seating, and lots of books. There is also a small bar/cafe in the social area that sells hot drinks and craft beer. It’s a perfect place to talk to other guests and enjoy some down time.

My boyfriend and I brought our own food from the itoyokado by the Fukushima station, which we used to make our meals during our stay in Tsuchiyu. It was great to be able to cook just like at home with all the provided tools in the kitchen, and if you’re on a budget, it can really help keep daily costs down.

The onsen at the hostel were all very nice. The male and female onsen swapped one of the days, so we were able to experience both the public onsen offered. We also rented a private onsen on our last night, and I can highly recommend doing so, as it was wonderful to be able to soak and watch the sunset at the same time.

The only negatives I can think of is that our room had a faint smell of cigarettes, and that the towels at the hostel came with a charge, should you need new ones. I would have expected to receive new towels during the private onsen experience, but you must bring the previously used ones you were given...

I booked a room with Rakuten. Upon check in, I was told the room rate should be about $60 cheaper due to the lift not functioning. The price difference was then given back to me. i was happy with that. The room i booked is huge and comes with in-room onsen bath, beside the onsen tub is a shower area. I came from a tropical country, so the shower area can be very challenging, cuz it is very cold. The onsen water is direct from hot spring source and it is hot enough, it might take some time to adjust the water temp to ur desired temp. And the soaking experience is amazing. The onsen view is overlooking snowy scenery. I really love it. The only regret of my stay is I spent too little time here. I arrived late due to unfamiliar of route and snowy road conditions. However, two receptionists that expecting us being very kind and helpful with my room check-in. I arrived late (7.50pm), we are tired and hungry and craving for food, the staffs there able to cook us foods although the restaurant seems closed. I must say that’s one of the best meal I had in this Japan trip. Thank u very much. Do note that the nearest mart/convenient is abt...

This place is the land of dreams If you want to take a night to relax and just be with yourself and the nature around you, this hotel/hostel is the place . I stayed in a hotel room and it blew my mind how lovely and simple it was Generous with space and the layout was very refreshing and fit well with the mountainous area and traditional vibe. The staff were so lovely, I had a problem with the door on my room and they fixed it right away and gave me a complementary drink which was a nice touch!! Totally was happy with the fix alone but they go above and beyond here. I had their morning breakfast too, because it's hard to find places in this area so either come with food or get a nice, local, fresh breakfast at the hotel! Recommend!!! They have their own onsen open from 7:30am to 11pm so you can let the stress go whenever you feel! 10/10 can't recommend enough!!
