Used by a couple traveling (no meals, room on the 24th floor).Kokura was a completely new city for us (we couldn't find accommodation in Hakata, so we happened to stay in Kokura).Directly connected to the north side of Kokura Station, 2-3 minutes walk. You won't get lost if you enter the hotel from the passage on the second floor and take the escalator down to the lobby on the first floor. There is also a convenience store just in front of the hotel (head towards the hotel from the second floor passage on the east side). There are several convenience stores on the north side of the station, so it's quiet at night. Tanga Market and Kokura Castle are on the south side of the station.Perhaps by chance, there was only Japanese tea in the room, but no coffee or anything. I checked in late and left early in the morning, so I'm sorry if it was in your drawer or something. The Japanese tea stick was on the desk.It took less than 10 minutes to get to Tanga Market on foot from Kokura Station through the shopping street, so it was closer than I expected. The main attraction of this hotel is that there are many shops in the shopping district (not just restaurants, but also some nice vintage clothing stores), and the lively town is within walking distance. The prices of hotels in Hakata are soaring, so staying at this hotel in Kokura is very convenient and...
Read moreThe last time I stayed in Rihga Royal Hotel was for 2 weeks to celebrate my birthday with my wife, end of July and the beginning of August, in a room on the 18th floor having a superb city view (see my pictures). Although during the pandemic, it was still quite enjoyable due to the outstanding services offered by polite and professional staff. The hotel has direct access to JR Kokura Station in Kitakyushu city and to many restaurants, cafeterias, etc. that are reasonable priced compared to the hotel’s pricey restaurants. Breakfast is good, both Japanese and western, a good buffet is accessible from the spacious lobby. The buffet was closed but if opened, I suppose it would have been at least as good as 5 years ago when I invited my parents. Rihga Royal hotel allows covered access to many restaurants, shops, and everything else one might need, which is very convenient especially during the rainy season. Trains, busses, Shinkansen can be accessed easily directly from Rihga Royal, therefore it was very convenient for us to stay at this hotel also when we needed fast and easy connection to Mojiko, Shimonoseki Kurosaki, and Hakata. This hotel is on my list of the top best 3 hotels in Kokura and I highly...
Read moreThe hotel is located right in front of the bus stop at Kitakyushu Airport. It is connected with Kokura station, and there is good security and convenience store is near. Staff is friendly and English is good. We used breakfast service, but we did not have many menus, but we can eat simple food for 20,000 won. The hotel is close to the market, but it usually opens in the lunch hour and it is empty in the morning. ㅎ It is also nice to have a drink at the convenience store. ㅎ It provides basic amenity and provides Shiseido soap. The facilities are clean, It is very recommended because it is cheap I want to stay here next time. I have left good memories. I bought the flower at the market cheaply and put it on the window, but it seemed to change the water every day.
