An absolutely stunning and unique place to call home during your stay in Kumamoto! Minutes walking distance to many restaurants and convenient stores. 10 minute walk to Minami Kumamoto station where you can get just about everywhere you want to visit while staying here.
The home was immaculate when we arrived. We were taken back by the mix of Japanese and western home aesthetics. The home furnishings and art were very thought out and add to the homes positive energy.
A huge plus was the bathroom. You have an area with a sink and mirror for your typical daily routine care but right next to it is another room that has a showering area and a bathing area that resembles an onsen! A digital wall mounted unit controls the temperature of the shower and bathing water. It also can self fill the bath for you. The house also uses natural mineral water supplied from underground Kumamoto!
The toilet is in a completely separate room to the left as soon as you walk in the home. It has a beautiful aesthetic with a very unique washing area and mirror. The only flaw is it’s the only toilet in the home so if you wake up in the middle of the night, you have to go downstairs.
The true Japanese tradition comes with the traditional bedroom fit with tatami floors. You sleep on a single mattress on the ground but fear not, my wife and I slept like a baby every single night. We were so comfortable.
Both the kitchen and bedroom both have ac units that can be controlled via a remote. There were various instructions throughout the house showing how to use said units, remotes, etc.
The host was very responsive whenever we asked questions. We contacted through the Air BnB app. No matter the question, they were quick to respond and gave us all the information we needed.
We picked this place because of the location and the way it looked. The stay here far exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend anyone wanting to stay in Kumamoto to make this place your temporary home...

The home smells calming with incense and candles. The traditional Japanese tatami bed was comfortable and cool in the evening. My husband and I slept very well! My only regret is that I did not extend my stay in this lovely home for a longer time.
Google map's dropped pin is a little bit off, but keep looking for the entrance area with many bikes on the walls and the blackboard with a welcome message and the...

There are bicycles provided to travel around and a washer / dryer enabling us to do some washing if necessary. The same outdoor area serves as a smoking place.
