I'm sorry I can't give it more stars, but I got a wrong wakeup call or something which I did not request at 8 am when I was still asleep. I couldn't understand what the woman said at first in Japanese because I was too sleepy to understand Japanese (sorry) then she just kept repeating "request" or something (again couldn't understand well, but it was an attempt at english) over and over again. I kept asking "what? what request?" (in both english and my attempt at japanese while very tired) but she just kept repeating "request!" or whatever. eventually she must have realized that she called the wrong room, but rather than apologizing in any language, she just hung up! just because I don't understand a very long sentence in Japanese when being woken up out of nowhere doesn't mean I don't understand "sumimasen" or "gomenasai"! Anyway, since I was woken up, I slept in late and missed breakfast, even though I paid for it, but it was not a very restful sleep as a result either. Plus the room had a skylight, which might have been in the room description but I didn't notice, and that made it hard to sleep and especially to go back to sleep after that rude awakening in the morning, so overall I didn't have a relaxing trip although I came to relax. There was some confusion over the shuttle pickup too, but it is a short walk from the bus stop to the inn, so there's no need for a shuttle, but maybe then it shouldn't be offered for pickup if it does not come anyway (I did not request it to start with, they did but then never showed). Well, despite all that there was a very nice young man who was very good at English working there so that is why it is 3/5 and not less. Also the shuttle driver was very helpful on the way back; I'm not sure what happened on the way to the inn, it could have been a miscommunication on my part to be fair. The room and Inn in general were very stylish and the baths at the sister ryokan that we get to use for...
Read moreWhat a WONDERFUL stay! The first night we arrived we were the only guests. Our room was very large and there was plenty of space for our luggage. The staff was exceptionally hospitable and the gentleman who helped us spoke great English. We had read reviews to pay the extra $16/ person for breakfast and we are glad we did. They serve an incredible three-course meal for breakfast including fresh green smoothies and homemade pastries which will leave you feeling full until dinner. The food was freshly made that morning. This inn has availability to use the onsens across the street. We highly would recommend this for a...

Room is clean and large, and bed is really relaxing. The common area is also nice.
There is actually nothing to complain. Well, maybe the price. It is kind of expensive, but you know, so...
