It is a comfortable place to stay, less than 10 mins' walk to the nearest gondola station. The new owner was helpful and service was good. My only advice to owner is that if he expects to keep the Japanese clientele, he should ensure that the meals and housekeeping are kept to the Japanese palate and standards, respectively. I can't speak for Chinese (PRC) tourists but for other non Japanese guests, most of us will expect proper cooked Japanese food for dinner or breakfast, unless in the case of breakfast, the hotel decides to switch to continental breakfast. For the benefit of tourists who are not used to Japanese onsen etiquette, perhaps it would be helpful to have an explanatory note on how baths are done eg one should clean oneself before...
