Chenda International Hotel — Hotel in Minamiuonuma

I stayed at the Chenda International Hotel for two nights during the new year. It was hard to get because I did not know where the hotel shuttle bus is and was is the schedule. There was no taxi or other means of transportation so I had to ask locals to help me. I wish they share the shuttle bus schedule after the booking is done. It would be convenient and much appreciated by the future guests. The stuff is very kind! They helped me to choose the ski resort nearby, rent the equipment (I appreciate the possibility to rent equipment at the hotel!) and order the taxi upon departure. Although I wish they have more shuttle bus options to the station, not just one in the morning and in the evening! I was disappointed about the dinner options for 2000 yen. Limited food choice. The room is simple, nothing fancy but clean. So no photos of the property cause I was not inspired to take photos. There is a 2 min walk to the nearest onsen and they give a discount for guests staying the the Chenda International...

We booked 3 nights, after the first night, we suddenly checked out and find another hotel.

The room wasn’t really clean, stain everywhere such as carpet, curtains and walls, seems like it’s very dirty. There is black stain like mold on walls and furniture. Dust also appears everywhere such as carpet, dust goes up every step we walk, also the air conditioner is full of dust in the filter. I had a severe allergy staying there. There were also couple bugs in the room.

Also, the wall is super thin and non-soundproof. I woke up 3-4 times a night due to noise of walking step, snoring, clock alarm from next room. That was literally my bad night.

Rooms are alright, with a nice balcony, but too expensive after all. Food is way too expensive and the location sucks as well. It gives you the impression that it's right at the base of Ishiuchi Ski Resort, but in fact it's in the middle of nowhere with no shops/restaurants around. They offer a free shuttle to a couple Ski Resorts nearby, but it has to be booked in advance and if you wanna get back you're gonna spend a lot of money for taxis since the next bus station is also 20 minutes walking away and doesn't offer service after 6pm. After all it was alright since we booked very spontaneously, but I would definitely avoid it if I had time to plan the trip...
