Read morePros:|Rooms exceptionally nice, comfortable and quiet.|Very nice amenities|Staff is very polite and helpful|Close to Atomic Aomb museum||Cons:|it is up a hill, if you come from the wrong direction you will climb a lot of stairs.||Overall, an excellent property. The rooms contained a sink, microwave, refrigerator, safe. the bathroom contains both a shower and a jetted tub. There is a TV in the bathroom. I did not use the tub therefore I could not comment on the quality of the jets. The bathroom had hair dryer and a hair curler. There were amenities for both women and men. The rooms were exceptionally quiet and the beds were comfortable. They also provided complementary bottled water, tea and yes Starbucks coffee. WiFi works well, although the password changes daily. They would have earned a 5-star rating I came back from a day of sightseeing to find that they had strip the sheets and taking the towels and forgotten to finish servicing the room. A call to the front desk got the cleaning crew in the room quickly, they were very apologetic and finish the job.|Breakfast is a set menu: Western or Japanese with a small buffet. It is adequate, but like most things in Japan they are not flexible if you try to vary. For instance you can have a cheese or mushroom omelette but you can not have both.|A quick note about the light switches. The bathroom and shower had normal light t switches. However when I wanted to sleep I could not find the switches. After several minutes of searching I was beginning to think I might have to call the desk to figure out how to turn off a light (all those years working in Silicon Valley and I could not turn off a light???) Then I noticed a touch pad on the night stand. You ca control all of the room lights with the touch pad from bed. It was convenient.. |As I noted above if you approach the hotel from the wrong direction you're quite a significant amount of stairs. The front desk is located on the second floor so when you first approach it can be a little bit confusing.|The service is what you expect from a Japanese establishment. The staff is polite and helpful. The speak enough English to get the job done and can help with suggestions, directions and the like.|Overall a very nice property for the price. I would...
Read moreI have never written a negative review before, but this hotel was such an appalling experience that I feel compelled to warn others.
On our last day, I was double charged for having one extra person, even though my colleague-under the exact same situation-was charged only half that amount. The front desk originally said they would “get back to me” about the matter, yet when my taxi was waitingo on the very last minute we were leaving, they suddenly demanded immediate payment. When I reasonably asked them to resolve this with the booking agent (since the reservation was made for a conference), they threatened to call the police if I refused to pay.
Communication was nearly impossible, as no one at the hotel spoke English. Everything had to be typed awkwardly through translation apps. The room itself was at best subpar: tiny, smelly, and with lights that didn’t even work.
This was not just poor service-it was dishonest, unfair, and hostile treatment of guests. Instead of professionalism, I was met with intimidation. I regret staying here and strongly advise others to avoid this hotel...
