Navigating with the car in-built GPS was very easy. ||Car rented: Nissan X-Trail|GPS: English (Mapcode)|Map Code: 349 275 625*11||Note: Keep a look out for the double left turn (watch out, second turn is REALLY STEEP)||Super duper friendly hosts who would go the extreme way out to help and make sure you have an enjoyable time. They have a very old dog, Hana, a 14 year old Shiba Inu, who also helped brighten our day.||Check-in time is at 4pm and check out is at 10am. Log Cottage Himawari was extremely cozy and food served (dinner and breakfast) were all very delicious. ||The obasan goes all the way out to make sure you fill your belly for the night and for your next adventure, almost like a mother who ensures that her children are all well-taken care of.||However, please do not compare the food to restaurants as it's all personally cooked by both the obasan and ojisan, which means it adds to the flavour of home (at least from an Asian's perspective). ||We arrived in April between the change of season so there were pretty much almost nothing to do as everything and everywhere were closed. Yet, both obasan and ojisan called the various attractions to help check which were opened despite speaking limited to almost no English.||The place itself was spotlessly clean with heating systems and everything to make our stay really comfortable with no complaints at all.||However, we would like to add for potential guests to take note that various notices within the compound may not be translated accurately.||So to help guests who are considering booking a stay at Log Cottage Himawari, you may wish to note that the hosts would appreciate if you tune down your volume after 10pm and that there is also a strict no open flame and smoking in the log house (least it catches fire, it's made of log after all).||Also, do bring along some plastic bags or keep some from your purchases at 7-Eleven or convenience stores for rubbish to help keep the place clean. It would help if you leave the trash tied neatly near or outside the door and they will be sure to clear it.||The hosts will also clean the rooms on a daily basis at 10am, so you may wish to make arrangements with them if you plan to sleep in for a bit. ||With the above said and done, everything else to note has been highlighted by the other reviews such as steep steps (nothing to worry about), and limited WIFI to the dining area (it doesn't affect us as we have our own WIFI device). ||Overall, the stay exceeded our expectations in most aspects, and the view from the dining area and the room is amazing! Can't even imagine how awesome it would be in July to Sep when the flowers start blooming and all you see is a field of rainbow.||Last but not least, ceck out Furano Delice that is only 30mins drive away if you do stay at Log Cottage Himawari and we're sure that you won't be...

Read moreFirst off this place is for those with their own mode of transport as it is located out of town in a wooded area. Finding the place can be a bit tricky but if you have GPS then it should not be a problem.||As the name imply, the accommodation is a nice log cabin with a loft. It is spacious but access to the loft where you will sleep is via a steep step ladder. This may pose a problem/hazardous for the elderly and young children. Bedding is futon beds on the floor but it is quite comfy and firm.||The bath/toilet is on the lower floor with the living room. It's a compact ensuite as is typical in Japan. Appointments is sparse but adequate enough to make for a comfy stay. ||We had a delicious mystery fusion dinner prepared by the hosts but you will have little say as to what will be served. For those with special diets it may be best to pre-arrange your meal requirements. As to our experience with dinner we were pleasantly surprised by the fare and thoroughly enjoyed our meals.||There is also a washing machine and dryer at the main cabin that is a pay to use if you need to do laundry.||There is a quiet wooded park just up the road from the cabin that has a great view of the valley and is good for a walk especially during autumn.||All said we had a great quiet country stay and thoroughly enjoyed it but will not recommend this place for the elderly or those travelling with young children. Otherwise it's highly recommended for a great...
