This was such an amazing experience - the host was so kind and sweet and the food she cooked for us was SPECTACULAR! Only 3 rooms that share 2 bathrooms and a shower so no issues with shared facilities at all. Every corner of the place was super clean. There were also fresh flowers in almost every corner of the house which was such a beautiful touch. Staying in a traditional inn was also an opportunity for us to meet other travellers and share our thoughts/impressions. We enjoyed that very much.|The host is very helpful, they even came to pick us up at the bus station, which is like a 5 minute walk from the place.|I loved the traditional feeling of the entire property and futon beds were an awesome experience :)|Magome is a beautiful little post town, make sure you drink spectacular coffee in the centre in a bar HillBilly Coffee Company where the owner is our host's son. The coffee is as good as in the best Italian bar.|We did a hike from Magome to Tsumago in the heavy rain and it was a beautiful experience. |Thank you for everything. We loved Magome and...

The owner made this place so special - with her amazing dinner cooking. The breakfast was comprised a salad and one fried egg, one cup of coffeee, a glass of orange juice and bread. The accommodation, with shared (down steep stairs) shower (only one of the two was functional) and two toilets (only one with working bidet) had instructions everywhere - what to do, where to pee, there is even a curfew at 11pm! One cannot help but feel as though you are being treated like a child here. There is no convenience store nearby, so drinking water from the basin downstairs will probably be your only option. The room and bed were comfortable and fan provided excellent air conditioning. Dining is laid out at the time you agreed on, so if you are a few minutes late, you will have...

Keiko-san is a warm and friendly host who has a genuine passion for welcoming patrons to her small but comfortable and well kept guesthouse. She also has a delightful cat who helps say hello to guests. Everything is very clean and the beds (futons) are soft and comfortable. The food is amazing, show-casing traditional Japanese dishes including salted fish, rice, pickles and miso soup. Children are also provided with slightly adjusted meals to suit their less developed palate. A selection of local craft beers are available amongst other more standard drinks. Would not hesitate recommending a stay at Guest House Motomiya. It is well positioned close to Magome and is a great stop for those looking to hike and explore the Nakasendo Trail.

My wife and I only stayed one night, but we quickly felt at home due to the couple's warm hospitality. When we went for a walk, he lent us some bells to scare away possible bears on the route :) The accommodation is in an incredible location, with a beautiful sanctuary in the middle of the forest 10 steps away from the door. We had dinner and breakfast and it is a gastronomic experience that is difficult to forget. It shows that they cook with love and a lot of detail. The facilities are very comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay here again. Many thanks for everything Keiko! Regards from Spain!
