Southern City Hotel — Hotel in Nankoku

Staying at this hotel is definitely a no brainer! The hotel is located about 7 min by cab from the JR Gomen Station. It is in a very convenient location, especially for someone looking to eat delicious Japanese food! There are many restaurants (traditional, western, indian ) along the road the restaurant sits. There is also a very nice park with a nice playground and awesome views of the city (very nice for a family picnic or taking pictures). If one wants to go into Kochi city they can take a cab (a straight shot) about 15-20min. If one wants to explore the beautiful hills, ocean, and traditional scenery its also very easy to access from this location (the famous Godaisan with the best views of Kochi City and the botanical garden are 10 min away by cab).||||As for the hotel itself, it was extremely clean and the rooms were large and well kept (no worn linens!). The beds are just right not too soft or too hard. Sheets were very nice. Very nice restaurant!||||The highlight of my stay however was the staff! They were friendly and professional. They communicated well between shifts and there were no blips in any of the transactions or services I asked them to conduct. I am especially thankful for Beppu-san, not only is his english flawless but he went above and beyond to help me out of a tight spot. Without him I would have accidentally mis-shipped some valuable luggage and would have been lost at my next destination! ||||If you need anything and Japanese is not your strongpoint I definitely recommend staying at this hotel just for Mr. Beppu! the hotel room is nice , best shower even in Japan. but the sink is too low, good size for the child , too low for an adult the hotel has swimming pool, the pool is belong to the gym , normally require the membership ,but you just need to show the counter that you are staying in the hotel they will let you in. if you dont have the swimming suit, they have the swimming suit to borrow which was nice . they don't really speak English, that was a little tough to communicate. they have laundry machine at 3rd floor to use. the breakfast was acceptable , if you are foreigner, like western food , they have croissant, chocolate bread, salad, bacon. it was...

I stayed a night for business trip this November, it was a very good hotel. The breakfast was very reasonable, enjoyed the Katsuo salad! For toiletries, you must take them from the hotel lobby before going up to your room. The room is very comfortable, I really like the light dimming controller!
