Hotel Harumoto — Hotel in Nikko

Today is currently my second night in Harumoto, and will be staying here for two more days.||It is very affordable, book it in advance coz it is easily fully booked. It is very near shrines and bus stops and there is a nearby family mart which is convenient. It has full amenities except I was expecting a bottle of body wash, shampoo and conditioner but all I got was a fee sachets of soaps and shampoo. The bathroom is a bit bad for me. It doesnt separate toilet and bath, only had a curtain. The shower's temperature is never steady. Always have to adjust the faucet coz it keeps changing. Sometimes hot water doesn't come out and have to wait for it. But since it isn't high end one, and I never expect beyond what I pay, I am over all satisfied. The communal bath is a bit old looking, but still nice. Breakfast is nice too. And there is a supply of tea and hot water...

The name wasn't even written in English script, you took your shoes off at the door and no-one spoke any English but our reception was welcoming and the staff were very helpful. The room was traditional, tatami covered, the futons laid out at 7pm each night.We had a private bathroom and our name written in beautiful script on the wall at the entrance to our room. The hotel is located a bit out of town but walking distance to the main shrine. We had bought a rail ticket from Tobu rail which included a free bus from the centre to our hotel and luckily we met someone who spoke English and pointed out the hotel to us. There was a communal hot spring bath (one for females and one for males) and it was great to relax in the hot water after a day's...

This is my first Ryokan experience, not sure how it is compare to the other Ryokan but I was really satisfied. Yes the room is a little old but the upkeep is fine so it still look decent. The food (both dinner and breakfast) is simply amazing.||||Location wise is unbeatable, very close to the shrines and the bus stop.||||The onsen is a little small when there are a lot of people I guess, but there is no one there except me and my friend so we have the entire place...
