Oarai Hotel - A Perfect Stay Beyond Expectations
My recent stay at Oarai Hotel was, without a doubt, one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. From the moment we arrived to the day we checked out, everything about this hotel exuded thoughtfulness, comfort, and excellence.
First, the lounging experience was outstanding. The hotel offers spacious, comfortable lounges where you can truly relax and unwind. What made it even better were the massage chairs available for guests — not just a basic chair thrown in as an afterthought, but truly high-quality ones that provided a full-body massage experience. After a long day of sightseeing and clam digging at the nearby beach, sinking into one of these chairs was pure bliss.
The onsen (hot spring bath) deserves special mention. The baths were beautifully maintained, clean, and offered both indoor and outdoor options. The natural hot spring water soothed our tired muscles, and the design of the outdoor bath allowed us to feel connected to nature while enjoying complete privacy and relaxation. It was one of the most rejuvenating onsen experiences I’ve ever had, and it was clear that the hotel takes pride in offering a serene, authentic bathing experience.
The location was another huge plus. Oarai Hotel is ideally situated — close to a beautiful, clean beach that's easily accessible on foot. Being able to stroll to the ocean in just a few minutes was a rare luxury, and it made our stay feel like a complete getaway without the hassle of driving or planning complicated outings. The surrounding town is charming as well, giving off a relaxed coastal atmosphere that matched perfectly with the hotel’s vibe.
For families, Oarai Hotel goes beyond expectations. They offered an arts and crafts candle-making activity that was perfect for children and adults alike. It wasn’t just a quick craft session — it was an organized, meaningful experience that allowed our family to create memories together. The instructors were kind and patient, and the materials provided were of high quality. We came home with personalized candles that now serve as a wonderful reminder of our trip.
The amenities throughout the hotel were equally impressive. Every detail, from the room amenities to the public areas, felt carefully selected to enhance comfort and enjoyment. The toiletries provided were excellent, the bedding was incredibly comfortable, and little touches like complimentary drinks and local snacks in the lounge made us feel pampered. Even the hallways and lobbies were thoughtfully designed and decorated, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere wherever you went.
In short, Oarai Hotel is perfect. It strikes that rare balance between luxury and warmth, providing high-end service while still feeling genuinely welcoming and family-friendly. Whether you’re looking to relax deeply, explore the beautiful Oarai coastline, enjoy family activities, or simply recharge your body and mind, this hotel delivers on every front.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Oarai Hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and truly satisfying stay. We are already talking about when we can return — it left that deep of an impression on us.

Read moreA nice hotel right next to the sea. We had a spacious room with a private bath and a balcony with sea view. The room was clean and well equipped. The meals were okay, the breakfast is better than dinner. For dinner they serve a lot of anglerfish and crab dishes, but these are mediocre at best. They also have an onsen, but I'd prefer the private bath. The only thing that bothered us was that we (as foreigners) were treated very differently from Japanese people. For instance, about 15 mins before dinner time ended, we were "kindly reminded" that dinner ends at 9pm, while no one else was indirectly told to get going. In the end we had a pleasant stay...
