Spent 5 nights over two visits to the Rembrandt. On the plus side it’s a clean, reasonably priced hotel with helpful staff. Having said that it does fall down in a number of areas. We were surprised to find that accessing the gym as a hotel guest is not free. In fact the cost is only really justified in my opinion if you’re planning to spend a couple of hours in the gym and sauna. The bar, it’s smoky as are many in Japan, would not let us charge to our room. Not a big issue I grant you. The hotel looks like it was last revamped in the early 90s, with the influx of visitors to Oita for the RWC2019 it could do with a bit of an overhaul. There aren’t many staff that have basic english. Ok it’s a Japanese Hotel but I would expect reception/concierge staff to be able to direct you to areas in Oita in basic english. The majority had no english at all though they did their best to help us and breakdown the language barrier. Lastly it’s 15-20 minutes walk from the main areas in Oita, so if going to Ōita again I would pick something closer...

You can imagine how little good sleep we got.||Wifi worked well and hot water was good too. There was a small fridge but it was not cold. More powerpoints would have been useful too - one bed console had two points while the other had none.||Parking spaces were free and ample. There is a bank of washers and dryers which can be used for 300 yen and 100 yen respectively, with each session taking around 30 minutes.||The train station and AMU Plaza is 15-20...
