We stayed at Dorsett Agora Sakai Osaka for one night. The front desk staff were very accommodating and helpful, which we appreciated. The hotel itself is modern and conveniently located for those who have business or errands in the Sakai area.
However, there were a few things that could be improved. When we first checked in and used the elevator, there was visible trash inside. Unfortunately, the trash remained there for several hours as we continued to use the same elevator. It was only cleaned by the time we checked out.
In the room, there was no complimentary bottled water provided, which is something we expected. We are a family of three with a 7-year-old child, but the room was only prepared with two towels and two pillows. When I requested an extra pillow and towel, I was told to come to the front desk to pick them up myself.
Additionally, the shower head in our bathroom was leaking at the base, which made showering a bit inconvenient. The hotel is located in a quiet area, but there are very limited restaurant options nearby, so it might not be the best choice for tourists looking to explore or dine out easily.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel only if you have specific reasons to stay in the Sakai area. For a relaxing vacation or family leisure trip, I would...
Read moreIt’s been a while since I last visited Osaka. Even though Expo 2025 is approaching its final stage, I still want to share a recent stay at a newly opened hotel — Dorsett by Agora Osaka Sakai, opened this March.
Sakai is a little farther from the city center, but the location is close to the station, and getting to Namba, central Osaka, or Kansai Airport is easy. To align with Expo 2025, there’s even a pier outside the hotel with direct boats to Yumeshima. The bay view is lovely — calm in the morning and peaceful at night.
As with all Agora Group hotels, the lobby features a welcome drink corner — a signature touch.
This time I stayed in one of the suites. The room has a clear separation between the living and sleeping areas, making it feel spacious and cozy. You can open the windows and enjoy the sea breeze. I also liked their bathroom setup — the perfect way to unwind after a...
Read moreThe location is a bit out from everywhere and it is not reachable by JR -- so extra cost to take Sakai line if you only get JR passThe website clearly stated FREE luggage storage but we were told there will be extra charge on day of checkout during Osaka Expo 2025 period -- we tried to argue despite we have only 2 cabin luggage they insisted to charge us so end up we chose to bring our luggage to put in locker near to train station (which is way cheaper and more convenient to retrieve)Not many eating places at night in nearby area except drinking place and convenient stores -- really not recommended unless you just want to relax in the room for the port viewbtw no wardrobe in room - only...
