Read moreThe Route Inn is, what I like call, a business hotel. It focusses on the three B's: bed, bathroom, breakfast. Therefore it is also a good place for tourists like me who are exploring all the day and return late and after dinner back to the chosen "base camp" for a hot shower and sleep.||||The style of hotel, beginning in the lobby and in the room as well, is average and functional. The room is small. I am not sure if I had a double bed room (I am not familar with bed sizes). If it is, it will be very small for two persons with baggage. The bath room is this standard cubicle you will find all over Japan. This is nothing bad, not at all, but is also only average.||||The breakfast was also average. It was a buffet that maybe appeals more to the japaneses and american guests. For me as a german guy it was ok but not more. ||||The hotel has a small public bathroom. I don`t think that it is real onsen water, because Seki is as far as I know not a Onsen Town, but I may be wrong. On the other hand ... who cares: The recreation value is the same. I used it after returning from a shrine festival close to Gifu where I spent 4 hours in heavy rain (even my camera quit). The hot water tub was sooo good. It really makes the difference.||||The location of hotel is not good but also not that bad. It is a 10-15 min walk from the train station. The area around the hotel looks a little bit a mix of a commmercial area and a residential area. I found only one Izakaya for late night beer and dinner.||||To sum it up: The price was fair. It was clean. It provided all I was looking for -- 3 points. (Note: My 3 point rating doesn't mean that it is not good. It means that is average,...
One of the better Route Inns that we have stayed in. Warm welcome from the staff, speedy check-in with the Route In App. Stayed in the annex building. Room big enough for two, usual facilities and toiletries. Good sized car park, with a FamilyMarket a couple of minutes walk away. Wifi easy to log on and quick. Good selection at breakfast, even if some of the dishes were not so hot, but they had different options each day. Evening restaurant was good, a variety of dishes, and real staff to take your order, no-one was using the awkward tablet. Hotel was used as a base for travel in the area, Gujo Hachiman, Otaki, Shirakawa-Go, access to the expressway was...
Read moreI stayed in this hotel during a ski trip in Gifu. It is about one hour to one and a half hours from the slopes, and while that might seem a little far, it has a lot going for it. There is plenty of parking, the hotel is near reasonable gas stations, and there are a great number of places to eat out in the evenings. Furthermore, the rooms are comfortable and include details like humidifiers, and the breakfast is pretty varied for a business-style hotel. The hotel also has large public baths, which may be of interest to people who want to soak after a day in the hills. I'll be returning on...
