This is the third 9h capsule I have stayed at. The first two (in Kyoto and Tokyo) were good experiences for a capsule hotel and hence why I choose to stay at this 9h on my trip to Sendai. The location is great as it it is just a few min walk away from Hirosedori and Aoba-dori stations and a 10-15 walk from Sendai station. Its also located right next to Kokubuncho entertainment district and Vlandome shopping arcade. The facilities and beds are clean and the staff are helpful though have limited english.
My big complaint though is in its room layout. In this 9h location, all the lockers are located just on the other side of the two doors to the capsules. This means that all the sounds coming from the locker room (including all the people talking, opening/closing their lockers, changing, playing music) can be heard from in your capsule. As well, on the other side of the capsule room there is another door that leads to the sink/toilet room with the location where people blow dry their hair just on the other side of the door. That means in order to get a good nights sleep, you are really dependent on how considerate your fellow guests are. In the other 9h locations I've been to there was always some separation between the busy/loud areas and the capsules (including being on separate floors) but not this one! I highly recommend you bring ear plugs if you want to get a good night rest here and ask for a capsule furtherest from either of the 3 doors leading to the...
Read moreI stayed here very spontaneously. It is a capsule hotel, finally one also available for women. I liked the cheap price, the cleaneliness and the friendly stuff. They were always very helpful, even when it had gotten busy. The capusle is alright for some days. The location of the hostel is gorgeous. Super close to everything. You can walk around or take busses or subways. The wifi sometimes did not work. Then you can use the free wifi from the 7 eleven downstairs lol ||The showers were amazing and spacious but if you got up too late you had to stand in line, because everyone has to check out by 10. That means even if you stay for more days, you gotta leave your key and leave. So you leave your luggage in your locker and can not access it until check in around 3 or 4. Well.... it could also get really busy by the lockers in the mornings and evenings with everyone re-packing, because of course there is no space to do that anywhere else. You get a new bathrobe, slippers etc everyday with check in. All in all, I liked the place and the location was...
Read moreThe first time I have stayed two consecutive nights at a capsule hotel, and I found it annoying to have to check out and check in again each day. But they do let you keep the (large) locker to store your luggage during the day.|The capsule system is well thought out, with attention to detail, such as the soft-closing metal doors. As you'd expect with no pesky guests to get in the way, cleaning is thorough; the place is spotless. The capsule bed is comfortable, not too hard or too soft, and the ambient temperature pleasant. Noise? That depends entirely on your fellow guests.|The staff do not speak much English but the system is set up so that little communication is needed. I felt the lack of somewhere to sit other than the capsule, unless you count the hard bench on each landing. But I love the toilet seat that rises to greet you as you open the door.|If everything (bed, gown, towels, slippers) is changed and laundered each day of the stay, this must be a big waste of energy. I see no need for a personal bathmat or a...
