Great view and room is ok, but that’s about it. No hot water, currently minus 7 degrees. Heater is on but struggling to have a shower, freezing cold water like ice. Will edit review depending on outcome in the morning. We got hot water in cups from the shared kitchen and bathed ourselves. Do not recommend room 461. If you get room 461 deny it.
Room 2 star, view and lounge area. Service: 0 Location: 5 star because of view and heritage listed next door.
The next morning. We went to the counter at 7am and spoke to the gentleman who greeted us yesterday. We asked him if knew if there was a problem with the hot water. He asked if he could go to the room to inspect. He turns the tap on, feels the colder water and a spackle of Luke warm water starts to flow and says hot, I leaned in while he was there and I said, really dude… and then left and then within 3 seconds he knocked on the door and deeply apologised. I get that he has a job to do, but we are paying 30000yen for a room. Yes the view was an amazing but no hot water in 2025 is but if a joke. He then said to use the Onsen to have a shower between 0830-9am. I asked him about the phone as we tried to call the number they tell you to call after hours and he also apologised about that saying that phone will only call reception. But we tried that and didn’t work either. We left around 8am....
Read moreOverall, this place looks nice but that’s pretty much it. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a room without a kettle which is rather inconvenient. The room doesn’t come with yukatas despite it being an onsen/shared bath hotel. There isn’t any tea cups or glasses in the room either, so you’ll either need to take the paper cups from downstairs or drink from the plastic cups provided for toothbrushes. You also have to lay your own bed, despite how expensive it is. Also, the room is not sound proofed at all, and you can easily hear what’s going on outside. The room has a nice view but that’s pretty much it. The bath was also disappointing, there was an intense smell of chlorine and I smell like I just swam in a swimming pool after leaving the bath. The outside pool is simply too cold (17C) and unusable in autumn. The kitchen was a nice addition. There’s also extra perks such as free ice, a cup noodle free flowing soft drinks. But none of those are my priority and certainly not things that I need as a single night guest. The staff was helpful and explained things well. All in all, disappointing and underwhelming...
Read moreYou get more than you expected. Upon arrival from the bus station, there's a driver waiting to pick us up. (Yes, free shuttle!) When we arrived at the hostel, we didn't expect the place to be this amazing. The view from the lobby is just amazing. Inside the room, we are faced to the Okhotsk Sea, which was frozen at the moment, and to the mountains as well. So we woke up looking at that amazing view. The room size is descent. And although there's no bathroom, it will be another experience to take a hot spring bath in this hotel. There are indoor and outdoor onsen facing the great frozen sea and snowy mountains. Talking about bath with a view. The only downside is, location is pretty far away from the convenience store. At the time of our stay, there's a shuttle bus to go from the place near the convenient store to the hotel, but We're not sure about the other time. Service is amazing. Despite the language barrier, the staffs are trying their best to help us. Tip! Download a google translate application to make sure the staffs understand what you are saying. All I can say is, we get more than we paid for,...
