it's a very nice place. rooms are much bigger than your average tokyo room. checkin was a bit odd since it's done over their tablet system running skype (not in person) but they do have staff on site during the day to address any requests. i stayed for 28 nights at room 601 (deluxe skytree view)
location is great that the 7-eleven is directly across the street. you do have to use the chiyoda line every time you want to go to central tokyo, but the tokyo metro 24 hour pass is only 600 jpy so it's not going to break the bank. train can get crowded sometimes so keep that in mind. plenty of restaurants around the area too.
some reviews were complaining about the air conditioner/heater being too weak. i stayed during 32F winter weather and even snowing, and i had no problems. you just have to close the main door between the main room and the bathroom/toilet area to block off the wind coming from the outside door. i've had to turn down the temperature because sometimes it would get too hot. the AC/heater is not an issue.
my only complaint is that during the last 2-3 days of my stay, a loud group stayed either next to me or above me. i can hear every footstep. the footsteps were constant too and i don't understand how they can keep walking so much in a hotel room. it would last until 2am sometimes. i've had other groups stay near me and i didn't hear them so i think this group just really walk loud. that group even woke me up at 1am one time. someone kept trying to unlock my door and they kept knocking, demanding that i open the door. they realized when they saw me that they went to the wrong room number. very annoying, but this is not the fault of Minn Machiya (though maybe they should install carpets to dampen the footsteps)
there's a laundry machine. they do provide liquid detergent for the laundry machine but i wish they also provided fabric softener. also i was told i cannot use the balcony so you have to hang dry clothes in doors. laundry machine doesn't seem to dry my...
Read moreRooms were as described. Clean and spacious. Staff online was very fast and attentive. Within the day, they would respond to your questions . They answered all my questions and even helped to recommend alternatives when our two rooms were on a different floor as I had a few kids and elder folks. Even on the day of check-in, they could accommodate their recommendations. Trains are nearby, about 7-10mins away, depending on your stride of walking. 7-11 is just opposite and Lawson Mart on hotel side. Hotel also have vending machines selling Hot & Cold drinks outside for your convenience. Many small eateries just outside of hotel and affordable too. Hotel is Self Check-in but when we arrived, there was a staff that helped us. Even though there wasn't staff around but I still felt safe because there was lift security code and each room door had it's own security code to enter. It is really like your own home apartment. Hotel room is equipped with a full kitchenette: utensils, plates, bowls, cups, dish rack, a microwave, kettle n a medium size fridge, a dining table with 4 chairs. Bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer. A washing machine also inside bathroom. Toilet and shower area is separated which was good so one could shower while toilet was available still. One apartment had two double beds and a comfy sofabed and another apartment which was bigger had two double beds and two tatami mattresses. Overall, I am satisfied with my hotel stay. Will stay again if come to Tokyo in future. Highly recommended for singles, couples or...
