If you are a Bengali food lover and craving authentic Bengali cuisine in Japan, Puja is the place to be. Run by a wonderful Japanese–Bengali couple, the restaurant even has a Durga Thakur, which instantly gives you a homely and welcoming vibe.

The food was absolutely fantastic—I truly felt as if I was having a meal back home. I tried both the Hilsa and the Mutton, and they were cooked to perfection. The place is small and cosy, so don’t expect a five-star ambience, but it has its own charm.

The service was very good as well, especially the lady, who was warm, friendly, and pleasant throughout.

The only drawback is that it’s a cash-only restaurant, which I didn’t know beforehand—I had to step out to withdraw money from an ATM. I would strongly recommend they consider accepting credit cards for the convenience of guests.

Other than that, everything was fantastic, and I would highly recommend Puja to anyone longing for genuine Bengali...

This place is the best place to get a true Bengali household experience. I’m a Bengali from Kolkata and the food tastes like real homemade food. I ambiance is so pretty! I went there during Durga Puja so I could see Maa Durga too and besides that, the lady who serves the food is a great and friendly person. I’ve read other comments by Japanese people that complain about the environment being “talkative “ but no, that’s how it works in India. We love talking and interacting with people even if it’s someone that we don’t know. So if you’re a Bengali /Indian or someone who would like to experience a true Bengali dining, you...

This is an authentic Bengali restaurant in the proximity of various hubs of Tokyo. Please follow google map to reach there. However, on reaching the destination, one needs to enter -1 level of the shopping plaza. We tried few of Bengali fish and meat dishes and all dishes were prepared with Bengali ingredients, touch and Japanese meticulous plan and pin-point accuracy. The ambience was equally good and very well- decorated. The owners are very down-to earth, very well behaved and great to talk with. A must visit for Bengalis and others who are craving for bengali foods while residing and visiting...

honestly one of the most authentic Bengali meals I’ve had outside India and probably the only one in japan. It’s run by a Bengali woman and her Japanese husband, who’s also the chef. He clearly knows his stuff. every dish tasted spot on, nothing watered down or adjusted for local taste. The vibe is warm and homely, and you can tell they really care about what they’re serving. They do a special biryani on weekends that’s apparently quite popular , definitely planning to go back for that. If you’re thinking of going, book ahead. They’re usually packed on weekends.
