Yamanakako-mura||||The Best Homestay Hotel in Yamanakako!||||My husband and I wanted to see Mt Fuji, so my friend recommended this homestay/min shu ku/民宿/ホームステイ.||||We came from Tokyo, so we went to the website and booked the Highway Bus from Shinjuku to Yamanakako. The destination is called Yamanakako Hirano, the last stop. ||||Once arrived at the Yamanakako Hirano, it was about 8-10 minutes (depends how fast you walk with your luggage) to the homestay. Easy. Just use Google Maps if you need direction. ||||Upon arriving we took our shoes off and put on the slippers. I know people in the US are used to wearing shoes right into the house, please DO NOT do this. Make sure you take your shoes off and wear slippers! This is to respect the hosts and the Japanese culture.||||We got there @ 3, easy check in process. The host is really friendly! ||||Our room is the twin beds with private toilet only. The shower is public, separated by women and men. I believe there is a room with private bath and toilet, but it was not available.||||6:30pm (18:00) is dinner. Omg, there was a lot of food! The hosts prepared the meal with fresh and seasonal ingredients, and they were very tasty. You can tell them about your food/dietary restrictions, and I’m sure they can do their best to accommodate.||||We woke up at 4:30am to capture the magnificent Mt Fuji, and it was worth it. If you get up early, you can catch the “Red Fuji” 赤富士. We were so happy to see it, glorious sight indeed!!||||8am is breakfast, and again, so much food and delicious!! ||||Check out is @ 10am.||||I definitely recommend this homestay if you want to look at Mt Fuji. I went on the tour for Hakone/Lake Ashi/Ropeway/ Mt Fuji 5th Station twice but nothing...
Read moreVisited here last April and recommend this guest house to friends. They got excellent comments as same as mine. Highly recommended. Excellent place to see Mt. Fuji. In the early morning, if the weather is fine, you can see the mountain and reflection of that on the lake. Pretty beautiful. Mt. Fuji to be seen from the room. Open the curtain and see the mountain directly, if you chose the right side. Also, you can enjoy the view with taking a Japanese bath. Very relaxed. Delicious food prepared by the host. You must enjoy the japanese dishes cooked by a local. It's worthy of trying and tastes very good. Enthusiastic host to help any difficulties. I got a problem about the train tickets. The host helped me to call the train company and to reserve the new ones. It's much appreciated. Driving a car would be more convenient to reach the guest house. Even though it's not located in the most famous lake area, Lake Kawaguchiko, it's relatively quiet and relaxed to live in this area, Lake Yamanaka.
Above all, definitely visit again and...
Read moreWe stayed there on a chilly Sunday night, the end of November. Upon arrival, we were leaded through its unique entrance to the warm indoor area behind the windbreak room. Like a cave, all the cold and wind are kept off outside. We were also delighted by its home-made tastes about dinner and breakfast. Not even mentioning the stunning view when Mt. Fuji comes out from the cloud in the morning, all rooms are in the front row seats. ||The service is great for one who seeks quiet and peaceful ambiance away from crowd.||The Tripadvisor ranks it the first place in the B&B category around the area, well, from my opinion, this みんしゅく(B&B in Japanese) is well run and deserves its praise... Would love to recommend...
