Petra Gate Hotel — Hotel in Maan

I genuinely do not understand how this hotel has so many excellent reviews. It's a dump. The whole place needs a renovation. There's peeling paint, cracked tiles and damp everywhere.|Unfortunately, when I arrived I just threw my bags in the room to get to Petra, and didn't get back until very late, so by the time I noticed the issues it was very late.|The room and bathroom were dirty. The toilet seat actually had the studs coming through. The bathroom clearly hadn't been cleaned because the previous occupant had left their toiletries in there. The toilet was leaking and the toilet rolls were wet. The water pressure is so low that even washing soap off is difficult, I didn't date try washing my hair!|Both bedroom and bathroom lights were bare bulbs. There is only one plug socket, so if you want the fan, you can't charge your phone. The fan is horrendously loud, so you probably won't want it on anyway.|My mattress was very uncomfortable, the sheets were threadbare and didn't fit the bed and when I pulled the sheets back i saw that the mattress was falling apart and had a dent in the middle. I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel for the price, but I've stayed in a lot better for a lot cheaper. All I expected is a comfy bed with clean bedding, somewhere to charge my phone without having to sweat, and a toilet that doesn't hurt to use.
