The staff was attentive, helpful and always smiling. The food was absolutely amazing and very reasonably priced. I had the BBQ combo, Mansaf, babaghanoush, fatoush, tabouleh, hummus, falafel and maqluba. Food came in great portions and they were happy to offer alterations and extra sauces. The fact that I ended up returning every meal for the rest of my trip in Petra spoke volumes. I also had the pleasure to meet Talat, the owner. He has a high standard for the food he serves and the service he delivers to his customers. With an owner like this you can't expect anything subpar. Turned out everything exceeded my expectations. I believe that is because he loves what he is doing and is genuinely confident of what Jordan has to offer. The Jordanian hospitality left me overwhelmed and pampered. Here at Zawaya Restaurant we ate the best food in PETRA and WADI MUSA. Everything was absolutely amazing: the service, the food, the location.

We sincerely recommend the hummus here (best hummus in whole Jordan), the mix grill (amazing, made on charcoal and very very tender) and the lamb chops as well (the lamb was freshly cut from the locals, one of the best lamb chops I've ever had). The mix grill and lamb chops are served with bread, french fries and salad.

The portions are extremely generous, the price is fair and the whole team, especially MOHAMMED, were very kind, they served us quickly and we made us feel special.

We loved this place! The stuff is very friendly and we enjoyed our dinner there twice time. Do you know that good feeling when the restaurant care about it’s guests? It’s the one. They were checking our satisfaction during the meal (which was delicious), bring us a sweet treat after the meal as a hospitality and also gabce us a discount for the next day! When we came for the second time, the waiter welcomed us with “Good evening, welcome back!” And also the other guy who seems like running this place was immediately by our table asking about our trip we talked about the previous day!
