Petra Sella Hotel — Hotel in Maan

I had a very weird experience staying at this hotel. I'll start with the positives: manager "upgraded" me to a better room with a great view of the mountains. My room had no faults. Wifi connection was acceptable.

Here's the negatives: As a single traveler I felt a hostile & fake hospitality from the staff. I wasn't allowed to check in earlier despite the hotel looking so dead quiet, so they offered me a ride to Petra. I later discovered that the hotel was barely full, which made me question why I wasn't allowed to check in early. The real problem came on my checkout. My Booking.com reservation clearly stated that the price includes the breakfast buffet, yet they were forcing me to pay for it (they made up some reasons for themselves). I remember not paying much for it, but told the manager that I wouldn't give them a good review of it.

Also, it's a good 30 minute walk to the entrance of Petra, so the easiest way to go back is by taxi. I'd recommend staying somewhere by...

This is a very cute, cozy hotel in Petra in a convenient location as a base for visiting the area. The decor is lovely. We were welcomed by the Manager and staff. We ate dinner and breakfast here and both were good. We paid a little extra for a traditional meal which was totally worth it. The rooms are quite small but they are comfortable and welcome after long road trips and full days taking in the sights. There are Moroccan style baths on offer too which are good value, that can be booked via the Manager, with transport between the locations. There was a bit of maintenance needed on the bathroom in our room but nothing that was unsafe or not manageable. The view from the room overlooked the town and it was like being on a film set! Nice place, friendly people, especially d night manager, Muhammad is his name, I believe. He made sure we hd dinner evn tho kitchen ws closing. The only gripe we had ws that thr wasn't any bidet to wash ourselves after using d wc/toilet in our bedroom. Plus thr was only extremely hot water in our shower taps. Our request for cold water ws attended to d next day. The day we arrived, they hd sent some one to fix tis problem but he thot we did not know how to mix hot w cold water. It ws discovered tt some one hd turned off d cold water supply (whc ws somewhr outside our room) to our shower. Tis function ws not in our room. Thankfully we hd our shower on our 2nd ngt thr.
