The Driftwood isn't a mass catering, uber luxury resort - but that is what is so lovely about it. It reminds you of what is important in life, and simplicity and charm is at the heart of that. Its small, intimate, and you feel like you are a part of it, rather than a transient number checking in and checking out via the revolving doors of so many larger hotels.||||Manager Roger Sylvester is not only one of the funniest, warmest and most genuine hosts you will encounter, but he cares passionately about the club, its guests, his staff and the local environs, working tirelessly towards new ideas and opportunities to make everyone feel a part of The Driftwood family. ||||Three nights sleeping within distance of hearing the Indian Ocean lap the shores of Silversands beach, and I came away feeling I had stripped away every stress of 21st century working life there was to lose! The rooms are simple, but I slept better in them than I have in many a more glitzy resort!||||Places like the Driftwood not only deserve support during this tumultuous economic times, they work hard to earn it, and if you prefer things a little under the radar, they do, literally as their motto says, offer 'informality...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Driftwood! The staff were extremely attentive, and the management was fully engaged in ensuring we enjoyed our stay. Food was excellent, including fresh lobster, jumbo prawns, and snapper; and the dining staff worked to give us the same, prime spot for our meals. Our children loved the pool, and we enjoyed the kayaks and SUP/paddle boards. Jules and the management provides a complimentary tuk-tuk for a guided tour of Malindi old town.||||Community events such as evening bingo, music, etc. were very nice additions! Driftwood is a gathering spot for many Malindi residents. The beach is nice, but even better just a 10 min walk to the south, where several nice beachside restaurants are also located.||||Of note, the whole team took Covid-19 precautions, including face masks and shields, disinfectant, etc. The staff did all they could to assist us with our children continuing online school too.
